I have a couple of questions, this seems like a fun opportunity. Currently I work as an insurance agent, but I have always wanted to do something on the side related to writing, whether that be serious writing, or writing just for fun. Gaming is a passion of mine, so this seems like a combination of both because each are in a different, yet very important section of my life.

So, the questions: First, what would be the requirement on the length of each article, and would they be submitted to an editor first, or just posted? Second, would there be any way for me to get my hands on more systems so that I could do more reviews? I don't have a ton of expendable money, and currently own just a Wii U, an XBox 360, and a 3DS, I would love to get an XBox One as well, but currently cannot afford one. Lastly, I would love to do either side, whether it be gaming reviews, or the financial side of things, but I am just wondering where we would get ahold of accurate financials, meaning would we have access to an exclusive site, or individual company financials, or would we just wait for NPD data? I know they are usually one of the first out there with the data, but just curious.

I love creative writing as well, would there be opportunities to work in satirical pieces, or short stories or anything like that? I'm sure I will have more questions later, but those are all I have for now :)

1 - There is no length requirement. Yes all articles - even basic news stories - are copy edited (90% are done by me, 10% by Brent), and reviews are also content edited (mostly by Torillian).

2 - We don't supply reviewers with platforms, so no not really.

3 - For data you'd use our published figures, as well as those published by NPD, GfK etc. The only special access you'd get is potentially access to VGC figures that aren't published publicly, but that would only be after you'd been on staff for a while and, of course, would depend on Brett being happy to share that data with you.

4 - Stories, nooooot really, depends what you mean exactly. Satire pieces, yes, providing it's gaming related.

Alright, thank you Machina, perhaps I'll throw my hat in this ring!

P.S. Of course my satire pieces would be gaming related, and by short stories, I mean take characters and enter them into original stories to try and weave their worlds together, I think it would make for interesting reading! Of course, that's not part of the job description, so never mind, haha. Thank you again! :)

Heh, brings me back.

Me and DixieKong had a lot of fun on there. Always appreciated you giving such oddball projects a chance.

As for more shenanigans, I can always be a ghost writer for you guys.

I would apply, but my command of the English language sucks and I'm American. Plus, don't have much time to game anyways, too much good stuff to fap to.

Could you be more specific about this?

Obviously, the last one is the best one. Though they're all awesome with a capital A

It's like Obamacare. Certain people get it, certain people don't.

Good luck to those who want to try. I used to write for VGC back when there were no standards.

Selling yourself short there!

Well, a lot of it was done on the fly and there wasn't a lot of regulation (I edited all articles myself and there wasn't really any approval/guidelines). It was just me, elgefe and a few others.

There's still time for anyone who wishes to apply and has yet to do so.
