Forums - Nintendo - Sonic Lost World, is it more difficult or more unfair than Tropical Freeze?

Which is it?

Sonic is harder! 8 18.18%

Sonic is unfair! 36 81.82%

Total:44

Tropical Freeze was difficult but fair. Sonic Lost World is the exact opposite of that.

I beat Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze's main story in a day, dying around 30 times, whereas it'll have taken me two days to beat Sonic Lost World's main story, and I've died over 70 times with 2 gameovers, this before even beating the final level. Does this mean Sonic is actually the harder game despite what I had heard people saying about the difficulty in Tropical Freeze? Or does this mean Sonic is unbalanced n broken? The whole "everything insta kills you" in the later half of the game could be seen as unfair, but also as just a sharper difficulty spike. I dob't know, what are yal's thoughts on this!?

Maybe you just suck at Sonic.....

(This is humor intended, don't get offended) :P

Sonic Lost World is only difficult when getting the Red rings because of the "do or die" situations the game loves to throw at you.

I would say factors such as control, enemy placement, checkpoints, mechanics, etc.

For example, in Tropical Freeze, the controls are very precise and everything is very polished so whenever I fuck up I feel like it's my fault. In Sonic Lost World, the control is very finicky and hard to predict, so I feel like the game is to blame for a lot of my deaths.

But the game still doesn't control Sonic, you do! He wont jump if you don't press the jump button, wont run if you don't press the run button, etc.!

So you ask a qustion.. and when people give you an answer you don't like.. you go into "you are not right" mode.. ?

Ontopic.. DCTF is AAA from Nintendo.. SLW is (in best case) AA from Sega..

Did you collect everything? Did you do the temple stages?

I didn't 100% either game, just went through their main story. I know I'd still be playing DK if I went to get everything first, but I just wanted to speedrun through these games first, for reasons!

You didn't even do the secret exits? You have about 15 more levels or so to do then. A lot harder than the rest of the game.

Sonic Lost World has far less bonus content.

Lost World has a lot of trial and error gameplay which is its main weakness, holding back what otherwise could have been a great game.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Like it has been said, Lost World is hard only when you want to get all the Red Rings.. If you don't want to do that, then LW it's a fairly comfortable experience!

Well, this kind of thing is subjective.

What i can say, is that controls were a lot more tight in Tropical Freeze.
