You lost me on your very first bullet point about the tracks being better. Aside from DK Mountain and a couple of others, DD has the most boring tracks in any MK since Super Circuit, IMO.

Conversely, MK8 has my favorite selection of new tracks overall.

Rainbow Road, DK Mountain, Bowser's Castle, Yoshi Circuit, Sherbet Land, Dino Dino Jungle, Wario Colloseum and more. A lot of amazing tracks.
