Forums - Nintendo - Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem has convinced me to buy a Wii U with graduation money.

Great choice! Hope you enjoy it once you get it

My only advice is to get the white one. It's cheaper, and the only benefit to getting the black one, the DDP, is over. Just get an HDD and save yourself some money. Also, it's probably a good idea to get it refurbished, as Nintendo really does a good job making them feel new.

Use that saved money for some games.

This too... I got a great deal on a wiimote plus and nunchuck ...  here's a link

Others have good suggestions for accessories and remotes so I don't need to reiterate.

Games I'd recommend:

- Mario Kart 8
- Smash U
- 3D World
- Hyrule Warriors

I'd spent graduation money on a strip club.

But a WiiU is good too.

At least you got graduation money. I worked my ass off...not a single dime. Honored twice in a row for straight A's...not a single penny.

Wow. I got around 1200$ for my graduation. Want me to give some to ya?

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

If he doesn't take it I will. You could sponsor your very own Canadian college student!! I'll even draw you a picture

#1 Amb-ass-ador

Especially with that 200cc coming out, I will be playing MK8 again non-stop

I would go for the 32GB version unless you want to go all digital. I've had my WiiU since launch and haven't felt the need to add an HDD. VC console games take up no space whatsoever (Donkey Kong 64 is less than 50 mb for instance) and indie games usually aren't that big either (2gb max, and mostly way under). I only have 3 retail games digitally, and I just delete them when I'm done with them (Sonic/Pac-Man).

The pro controller is great but I only use it when the battery of my gamepad runs low. You might as well upgrade the battery for the gamepad but when you've got a pro controller it's not necessary. So your choice really. Side note: you should use the pro controller for Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze though. I feel the gamepad is mostly a 'lean back' controller. TF is just too tense to lean back... Though for some reason I did finish Shovel Knight with the gamepad. I guess it just takes some getting used to.

Anyways, I'm sure you won't regret buying a WiiU. I'm thinking of buying a PS4 after they anounce the slim model and a price cut at E3 😊
