Forums - Gaming Discussion - What games were you surprised were never made?

Half-Life 3, Banjo Threeie ( Nuts & Bolts doesn't count, dammit), Crash Bandicoot 4 and many others!

  • Nintendogs for Wii or Wii U. A live size dog looking out of your TV.
  • Professor Layton Wii U. At last you could see what the puzzles are about.
  • A lot of spin-off from GTA. RPG, FPS, Sports games (with life in and around the stadium), Smuggler's run sequels etc. They have a great game-engine that could be used for soo much more.
  • Pokémon 3D for Wii or Wii U.
  • Luigi's Mansion Wii with the wiimote as flashlight.
  • Pilotwings Wii with intuitive wiimote control.
  • Pokémon Snap for DS, 3DS or Wii U. The controller is the camera.
  • uDraw for Wii U.Should be an easy port.

I see it is almost all Nintendo games in my list. They leave so much potential untouched.

"I'd personally love to see a Wii U version of Minecraft," he admitted. "Actually, even more so, a 3ds version would be incredible. There are some homebrew proof of concepts that show it's possible. The reason we're not doing it is a lack of time and manpower." He says that they could pull it off by outsourcing the work to another developer, but that isn't the Mojang way."
When we still belived what he said was the truth.

Mega Man 11.

Considering 9 and 10 came out at a relatively close time frame, I thought 11 would end up being a thing.
At least Mighty No. 9 is coming eventually.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Legend of Dragoon II, especially back in PS2 days I am really surprised Sony did not pursue that series more.

Wipeout ps4
Rallisport challenge 3
Kameo follow up
Star wars X-wing vs Tie fighter
Beyond good & evil 2

Star Wars Battlefront III, so many rumours and because of the success of Battlefront II it seemed like a certainty but the game never came to be. At least the series is getting a reboot.

A game that I can fap to that doesn't tip toe around the fact that it's trying to be softcore porn unlike DOA.

Some of the Beach Volleyball games get to that point, with the dating-sim elements.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Sonic adventure 3.

I am surprised and disappointed that a lot of history from civilizations around the world have not been looked at. So many interesting set pieces, plots, and gameplay elements could stem from a game based on Aztec/Mayan/Inca times for example. Also left out (correct me if I'm wrong): Feudal Japan, Ancient Egypt, Norse (Skyrim may count here), Arabian, Mongolian (In Genghis Khan's era), and countless others

Beat me to it. Yes this! Like what the heck was Sony thinking?

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...
