Forums - Microsoft - Problems with XBoxOne disc drive

Yeah this happens to me a lot. I have to constantly eject and insert the disc. It eventually works, but it is annoying. If you ever find that it doesn't work, you may want to call Xbox support.

This seems like a common issue?
Anyways Id send it in to get it fixed if it is still under warrenty.

Never happened to me, sounds annoying.

Better send it if you got warranty.

Not sure how it works over there, but when my 360 was sent they asked me to use a non Xbox related box. I even used the ps2 box I had.

This is exactly what I am experiencing. Sometimes, it loads straight away and sometimes it takes several attempts.

Never had any issues with any xbox i have ever owned, been lucky. But this gen i have not been lucky , since my 2 ps4's i have make a clicking noise when i put a blu-ray or a game into them. It's very annoying and i mainly use my ps4's to play just final fantasy 14 on them, since its a digital game. Good luck with your system, i think a working system is more important than having a dayone system instead.

I got my xbox when titanfall came out. I didn't use the disc tray for months. Finally rented a movie from redbox. Disc tray was broke. Did not work and made a noise similar to a garbage disposal. Sent it to ms they fixed it no problem.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Mine does that sometimes, I find that ejecting one disc then waiting like 5 seconds before putting in the new dis it'll read it properly. Also I don't use my disc drive much so it doesn't really bother me when it does start acting up.

My PS4 has done this a few times as well, with the most recent time being yesterday.

However, it seems to be that my drive is very sensitive. If the disc has an finger prints it has trouble. It sounds like it is trying to load the disc but fails, then tries again. Rinse and repeat.

Cleaning the disc always fixes it.

Is this somewhat similar to what you've experiencing? Ever checked to see if the disc has smudges on it?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Sounds like you should send it in if it's still under warranty. I've never experienced that with mine.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

Just call MS and send it back. I wouldn't even consider dealing with it if its broken.
