Forums - Gaming Discussion - Kojima Expected To Leave Konami After MGS5, Inside Source Confirms

Unless Kojima was outright sabotaging the game development there is no excuse to do this and disrupt the team morale at this stage of development where crunching to polish happens, on which depends whether the game will be botched mess like Assassin's Creed Unity.

What an idiotic thing to happen to such a cult franchise.

That was my very first thought. SH has been my most anticipated title for 2016 (well, along UC4 now that it's postponed), but this turn of events seems to kill the game altogether.

Silent Hill has been over since PS2 lol.

I would be all right with Kojima leaving; IF IT WEREN'T FOR SILENT HILLS GOD DAMNIT. I guess we can see what happens from now until December when his contract is up :(

What about Silent Hills?

No!! Instead of waiting until after MGSV,, can't he wait until after SH?

kojima has said he wants to work on non-mgs games. this, frankly, could be a good thing. ..well for anyone open to new IP that isn't a big MGS fan. MGS is dead after PP so let's hope it ends the franchise well enough.

kojima will find more work if he wants it. SCEJ if now where else will take him i'm sure.

Here is some speculation taken from an internet comment:

"From the way it reads this is really a disguised studio shutdown. Staff transferred from full time to contract (which end in December), restrictions on access to corporate information, de-branding of everything Kojima related."

They are taking his name off of the boxarts too apparently

I'll accept the death of Silent Hills if Sony gets him! If anything else happens, this whole ordeal is a nightmare. And Konami is likely on the road to oblivion after December.
