So guys, it sold 50k copies first week and debuted at #5 in the charts. Meh. It's Japan.

The sales aren't great, they're kinda bad, but they're better than some of the other releases we have seen in Japan.

One one hand, I'm happy. It doesn't deserve much sales considering how low quality of a game it is, especially from Ninty.

On the other hand, Mario Party isn't exactly a series people pre-order. Its legs will hold up pretty well.

Solid first week, game will have very good legs. Can see it doing something around 350k lifetime in Japan.

It's the type of series that has more impressive legs than FW sales. It's a mediocre first week but it'll hold up LT.

To be honest I think franchise fatigue probably has set in.

This might be a prime IP for Nintendo's iOS/Android ambitions though, I could see it making a ton of money on mobile.

Not sure how good MP10 legs with will be with a low install base when MP8 sold 8,19M and MP9 sold 2.99M copies with over 100+M install base (according to VGC). Seems like such a drastic drop.

It's literally just a party game though. I do think they could have implemented other things though (like back to everyone has an individual character on the map) but the minigames seem pretty fun and that's the main reason for it.

I expect the legs to be huge in NA. It's pre-orders are good so far in the US but yeah. I feel like it'll sell at least 2m copies mainly due to legs.

300,000 LT is my bet.

Not to beat the drum too loudly anyway but maybe the whole mini-game compilation concept on home consoles has simply just had its day?

Mario & Sonic Olympics flopped on Wii U too and Wii Party U only has decent sales because Nintendo force bundled it (basically) in Japan as part of the main Wii U hardware bundle.

These are experiences people are now used to getting on their smartphones, they're not going to pay another $50+ to play the same type of thing on their home console. It's an outdated concept in today's market.

Wasn't expecting much sales so it's not too surprising.. hopefully it'll have legs to carry it further
