The Wii had gimmicks, so this will also have gimmicks. What gimmicks? All tell you Watt... Interactive Holographic display. **** will sell 1 billion.

so NX is hardware, confirmed by iwata. son don't worry nintendo will be on the hardware busines maybe even when sony left it.
34 years playing games.
Nintendo is switching hardware to arm for both dedicated devices; handheld device comes out first together with a cheap TV dongle version of the hardware that works with wiimotes and pro/gamepad controllers.

I can't predict prices of VR sets in the future, but I think if they launch in 2016/17 with most of the price going toward headset, and not up-to-date CPU/GPU, they can fit into $250 - mass casual market will not care (much) for graphics if they manage to make Wii Sports of VR age...hence my comparison with Wii.

The changes they've already made in the past few days tells me nintendo are awakening to reality. They said they will never make mobile games. They said mario will only ever be on nintendo platforms.
Investors have been telling them to get their act together, and a home console with equal power to ps4/xb1 wont help them much
To me sounds like a new type of console, not a wii u remplacement(please stop with all your prediction that the wii u succesor will be out next year..) or 3ds. No if we this is not a smartphone then could it be a tablet?

I have used VR on very high end PCs, and even they struggled to some extent for relatively "easy" graphics. The gamepad for the Wii U is enough to keep the price up at 250, imagine how much a VR headset would cost.
Know whats cool? We know games that will come only in 2016, so we can start to imagine the third party games that will come to console.
Kingdom heart III?
Tom clancy siege?
Mass effect?
Project Cars :P
Let the hype train begin!
"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
