Those are races. This isnt a race. These people are just talking about what sells more. A better analogy would be one group of girl scouts went out and in 2 days sold 40 boxes of cookies. Another group went out those same 2 days and sold 25. But they went out the next weekend and sold 18 more. 

Now, if youre just playing list warz, do you care that the second group took longer? No. All you care about is group two sold 43 and group one sold 40.

Now, does Nintendo and MicroSony play list warz? No. They care about revenue and profits. In this scenario group one might have spent less money on gas selling the cookies. Or maybe they sold 40 boxes of a more profitable type. So even though they sold less, they made more money.

So if the PS360 were to ever pass the Wii, it matters to those who can gloat on the Internet. It doesnt matter to Nintendo, Sony, or MS since in the end, Nintendo made more money than anyone else last gen. AFAIK anyway.

Lastly, it probably wont even happen anyway.

Oh man, thanks for reminding me! SEGA had such an amazing E3 that year. I actually don't think there has been a better one for me personally. It was just amazing game after amazing game, but that really summed up the 2 years Dreamcast was around too.

Kinda just shows though, winning E3 means absolutely nothing. Especially when PS2 is what you're trying to beat...

Sony will have Uncharted there anyway even with the delay, they gona show something of the game to get ppl hyped. Probably will also have Until Dawn , maybe something from Santa Monica and maybe Guerrila Games RPG everyone keep talking about but never reveal.

O and The Last Guardian obviously cause The Last Guardian is a candidate for every E3 ever hehe.

Microsoft already has Quantum Break, Halo 5, Tomb Raider and Forza 6 slated for this year. Not only that but Gears is going to be shown at E3  (most likely a 2016 release) as we've just found out on top of Scalebound and I am sure Crackdown 3 updates. By E3 Season 3 of Killer Instinct will be teased as well. 2015 is Microsofts E3 to lose essentially. Sony and Nintendo need to do something quick. This is just f'n sad.

And none of this will matter to most gamers. Sony could literally skip E3 and they would still sell many consoles.

The bottom line is all companies NEED to show something big at E3 because that's what E3 is for. And all 3 will show something big.

Also, QB is 2016.

I understand that most gamers wont notice this, but I am talking to you guys. I dont care which company it is i'll say it when they are weak and I will praise others where they are strong. If you believe all of the companies need to show something big at E3 then you're in agreement with me because to me personally the Xbox One is killing it. 

QB was never confirmed to be 2016, that was a rumor spread by a guy. Microsoft said they dont know what the guy was talking about because he doesnt work for Microsoft. Essentially its still up in the air. E3 is on the way in literally three months time so I am sure many release dates were given just like Sunset Overdrive was last year.

And in 2013, the PS3 was still getting TLoU, GTAV, Ni No Kuni, Dragon's Crown, Puppeteer, GT6, GoW:Ascension.

and in 2006, 2007 and 2008, it wasn't selling well or getting those kind of games.

Thats for people who say this is a race or the ones that say its a marthon, even a marthon has a limit of time to be a valid competition.

But your example is also good. But you also need to add is how much time do the girls have to sell through all thouse cookies. If the contest was over the first weekend then it dosent matter how manny the other group sold the next weekend, even if it was tripple.
