A mini Fire Emblem adventure could work. They could do prelude games on mobile leading into a major release on 3DS. It would be a good way to advertise and drum up excitement.

Fire Emblem would be perfect on mobile. Couldn't stop playing Shadow Dragon on Drastic. A horrible idea would be any Platformer, especially Mario.

Look up "Partia". It's basically Fire Emblem and its on mobile, plus it even has a sequel. That or games like Skulls of the Shogun, another strategy based game similar to Fire Emblem. |
Skulls of the Shogun is a cartoony, medieval version of Advance Wars more than Fire Emblem. And considering I've never heard of Partia, Fire Emblem wouldn't come close to touching the Clash of Clans market.

Me!
I can't speak for the typical mobile strategy games, but Fire Emblem is a game I rarely play for under an hour. I usually get so engrossed in my strategies that I can't bring myself to stop until the battle is nearly won, I've reached a save point, or am about to advance to a new part of the same battle. When people say a title is suited well for mobile, I assume they're referring to games that can be picked and dropped easily, since that seems to be the draw in the first place. Something like a rhythm game, a stage-based arcade game, or any simulator would work great for that in my opinion. Fire Emblem though...I just honestly can't see it being something I'd be remotely interested in playing on anything other than a dedicated gaming device.
If there's a large market for SRPGs like Fire Emblem, then I guess don't see a problem in releasing ports on mobile. I just pray to God that my favorite gaming franchise isn't altered on dedicated devices to fit this demographic, or worse, made exclusive to the platform. I can think of very few pieces gaming news that would disappoint me more than that.

As for bad games for mobile: I think anything that relies too heavy on you moving a character around a complex field like adventure, shooter or platform titles, they just don't work with touch controls.
Puzzle, strategy and minigames are perfect for the mobile market. I think Tomodachi Life would be huge on the mobile scene, especially in Japan, it's quirky, relies on the touch screen for input and played in short doses it just seems meant for mobile devices.

You have quite a skewed view on mobile gaming. This conversation isn't going to go anywhere, even when it is shown time and time again that strategy based gaming is very popular on mobile is isn't all just Clash of Clans, even though you try to portray it to be.
Good luck with the thread.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Here are some games that I wouldn't mind on mobile.
1. Pokemon trading card game
2. Pokemon shuffle or whatever the new game is I hear is quite good
3. Fire Emblem (though they better not stop making better version on 3DS/Wii U/NX
4. Mario & Donkey Kong Mini's on the move type games
5. Dr Mario & Dr Luigi
6. Mario Golf
7. Kirby Rainbow curse
8. Professor Layton
Basically games that don't require a control stick.

This is a genuinely brilliant idea. I would actually buy it, and I don't buy mobile games anymore.
I had a Dead Space game on my iPhone 4, and it actually worked pretty well. The graphics were pretty nice too.
I'm sure Samus/Metroid IP will be used in some way on iOS/Android, maybe not a traditional Metroid adventure but there are ways to do it. Metroid Pinball could return too.

I checked the sales of Partia. It has 500,000 downloads for 3$. The lowest selling international Fire Emblem is Radiant Dawn at 0.49 million, so just about equal sales. Partia would have a profit about 1.5 million. I don't know the price of Radiant Dawn, but Wii games here are 15-20$. That's a profit of about 7.5 million. Intelligent Systems stated that if Awakening wouldn't sell at least 500,000 units, the series would be shelved. That means that Fire Emblem wasn't being profitable.
Considering that Fire Emblem is a niche title even on Nintendo systems, and similar games have not sold well on mobile, tells me that a full fledged game on mobile wouldn't work. Something more like a prologue would be better.
