A friend recently convinced my to buy Lords of the Fallen as it would be a great game to warm me up for Bloodborne.

Lords of the Fallen is possibly one of the toughest games I've played. I've played Hotline Miami and beat it,  the original DMC's and Shinobi on the Ps2. Unfortunately I haven't played any of the Souls games and Bloodborne is supposed to be similar in difficulty to them as it's the same developer.

So, anyone who has played both,  LotF and the Souls games, can you let me know how the Souls games compare in difficulty to LotF?

Seriously, no one here has played both games?!

Ive played LOTF and Demons/Dark Souls are way more difficult.

The Lords of the Fallen difficulty almost always cheep. Enemies made with random behavior without much thought to it. Sometimes they are shielded for a long time without an opening whatsoever. You just need stronger heavy weapons to master the game ( run + R2 jump attack ). No much skill is required.

The Souls games on the other hand depend more on the player skill and the ability to react fast and wisely. The enemies behavior is very well-thought, there is always a right time to strike them, if you missed it, you will be punished harshly.

The Souls games are more challenging, but there is always a good and precise way to overcome the challenge.

Yes I agree, LotF has a lot of shielded enemies and some don't most don't react to being hit unless they are lower tier or you hit them with a hard strike.

How are the check points? I found LotF has decent amount of check points and the fact you can keep using them to get your health back and refill potions made it a lot easier. Is it the same in the Soul games?

In Demon's Souls there was a hub area where you start your adventures. No checkpoints until you beat the boss of the area.

Dark Souls is similar to LoTF in that regard. The world is seamlessly connected. You find checkpoints (Bonfires) throughout the world where you refill potions, upgrade your weapons, level up, change your spells. Later in the game you can fast travel between the main Bonfires.

Dark Souls II is also the same but with even more Bonfires and the ability to fast travel from the beginning.

Bloodborne... No one knows yet.

Thanks that was really helpful :)

Glad to be of help
