Forums - Nintendo - Disregarding all confirmed info, what is your one biggest hope for Zelda Wii U?

At this point, I just want an entertaining game.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

My biggest hope? Well if I had to choose one it would have to be a diverse and fun overworld. I dislike Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time's overworld because they both felt empty. Sure there were some holes underground to explore, a few enemies, and some heart pieces, and bugs to collect but for some reason the overworld felt empty and resemebled an obstacle that impeded your progress.

Windwaker did a much better job than the other two with different islands in each tile of the Great Sea which could be accompanied with submarines, tall platforms, large octopus, a random Ghost ship, hidden treasure below the sea, and more!

The Great Sea did a good job in providing an overworld that was extremely diverse and fun to explore. If Zelda U's world is as diverse as the Great Sea, I would be extremely happy!

Not counting everything we already know about Zelda Wii U like its open world or completing dungeons in any order, what is your one truest and simplest hope for the game?

For me, I just hope there's no mandatory filler. The biggest flaw in newer 3D Zelda games are the insulting amounts of boring filler. Whether it's the Tears of Light in Twilight Princess, the Silent Relm in SS, the Tadtone quest in Skyward Sword, the like hour long beginning exposition sections in both of them before you can go adventuring, and the Triforce Quest in Wind Waker.

These games would have been infinitely better if they just dropped these wholesale. It was my favorite thing about ALBW. The return to the old Zelda formula of just starting your game within minutes, and just exploring at your leisure with no arbitrary interuptions. I would gladly play all the Puzzelda in the world if the trade off was no filler. Heck, I'd happily return to motion controls in a Zelda game if the trade off was no filler.

What about you?

My one biggest hope... the new Link is actually The Hero Of Time. Or, the game is at the end of any of the timelines.

- Roc cape.
- Voice acting.
- No more temple item to kill its boss.
- MAGIC! Don't care whether it's through staffs or not.
- Sword techniques. This... this NEEDS to be in it. It makes combat way better.
- Ability to use enemy weapons like in WW.
- If there is fan travel it should make sense like a teleportation spell or something.

Get the fuck out of my head.

Voice acting aaaaand a open World Map with tons of dungeons and secrets to find!

Huge amount of towns and villages with plenty of npc's. no more small villages/towns with only a dozen or so inhabitants, i want big areas with over 60 npc's in each with lots of houses, taverns, inns, shops and guilds just like the witcher and elder scroll series but in the style of loz with it's own weird and quirky character.

...I mean... At least be realistic here. The new Link is very clearly not the Hero of Time. He doesn't look like the Hero of Time. He doesn't dress like the Hero of Time. He doesn't have the same horse as the hero of time.

Being able to play as Zelda

The thing I don't like about that is that bigger towns mean less memorable ones. I remember every single NPC in Windfall Island or Termina. I barely remember any from games like The Witcher or Skyrim.

I hope we get multiple towns with as much depth as the town in MM. Even if that means a lot less NPCs in each one.

realistic? please! Zelda is all about parallel dimensions and time travel! he could be the Hero of time... disguised! and that's why he's wearing a cape. Yeah that's a fan fiction, but you get the point :)
