The older ones (2005-2007) for sure, the rest... not really.

Just try  playing Far cry3 on ps3/xbox360 after playing Far cry4 on ps4/xone

It depends on the game, earlier games seem to have poor graphics that stand out much more than the more recent games.

I couldn't even play farcry 3 on ps3 before the next-gen the awful framerate made me physically ill.

BF3 is another example, haven't played the 4th one on ps3 so can't say about that.

It's mainly an issue with games going for that "realistic" look rather than a stylized art style. That's why colorful cartoony games on older consoles look fine but games that try and look realistic with detailed textures look like crap now (ps1/n64 era shows this the strongest).

"Realisitc" graphics do not age well at all.

Practically right from the start of 7th gen, they looked blurry. But the reason is less the resolution (although they later even had to upscale to even achieve 720p) and more the textures and washed-off color palettes.

And yeah, from a PC player perspective, even this gen already starts to do so

Well, not really. I find last generation graphics to be more endearing than those in the eight generation consoles. :)

Last gen still looks good but you're right about being blurry compared to current gen.
