PSV is less than 30k in NPD. I have no idea why you would count Playstation TV as a vita, it had bigger sales this month because it was heavily discounted. Would you count super game boy or gamecube GBA player? Those are dedicated devices unlike the vita which many people aren't even buying to play vita games.

Your example is not the same, Gamcube GBA player was something like an emulator. Vita TV isn't an emulator.
VGChartz is counting New 3DS XL, New 3DS, 2DS, 3DS and 3DS XL together.
Why shouldn't they count Vita, Vita slim and Vita TV togehter? They are already tracking Vita TV for Japan but not global. This is unfair!

you're calling my examples horrible?  wow, yours are far worse.  You know it's actually called Vita TV in Japan and not playstation tv like in the US and Europe right?  It's also almost selling nothing.  The people that actually want to play vita buy the vita because it plays all the games unlike vita tv.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

When did I say that your example is horrible?
Selling nothing? -> It is selling better than PS Vita in USA.
Please do not post in this thread when you have no idea about PS Vita and NPD.

As much as I love my Vita, it's not doing well. You've got to understand that there comes a point where hoping for commercial success in the mainstream is too far detached from reality that it's simply not plausible, and just enjoy the system for what it is.

Is the system doing better than VGC says? Possibly by 10k a week which is nice, but there's too many hypotheticals and even then, it still wouldn't lead to amazing LT sales in the long run.

If you don't mind then I'm gonna go head back and play DR2 while crying into the screen.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I think the real answer to the puzzle probably lies in the Middle East and Asia though. Have you seen the Vita sections in stores in Dubai? Absolutely monstrous compared with what I see in the US and UK. There's also a lot more frequency in physical releases in Asia (outside Japan) than in Europe/US. Sword Art Online, Orishika etc. suggesting a greater consumption. But we get no data for these countries at all really.

This is what I've been trying to say before. The Vita is doing well (not great) in Asia, especially in East Asia to be exact because people have become mobile gamers but the impact of the mobile market has not been a negative to the handheld market, it just became a part of it.

Of course, we don't have any idea how its really selling because we don't have any NPD or Media Create in this region. lol!

So yeah, the Vita is still doom and will be bundled with the Wii U in the future as the consoles of despair bundle. ROFL!

Imagine if Sony cared and made good exclusives for it.

Well, my DS Lite also doesn't play all DS games (it can't play DSi-games) and my 3DS doesn't play all 3DS-games (it can't play n3DS-games).

Why is it okay to summarize the different DS-models and 3DS-models but it ain't okay to summarize all Vita-models that can play most Vita-games?

You can't even play uncharted and gravity rush, that's like not being able to play mario and zelda.  The new 3ds can play all 3DS games, it's not even close.

But 3DS also can't play all N3DS games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3D.
And 2DS is not able to make the games 3D.
But VGChartz is counting all 3 together!

Then what are they buying it for if not mainly for games? To have a mediocre set-top-box with a clunky remote control which can't even handle 1080p videos?

You're making a leaping assumption there about European sales, especially since the reason PS TV sales were so high in USA is because of the giveaway in Bestbuy (and massive discounts on Amazon).

That said, PSV still had a more decent month than I was expecting. Maybe this year won't be the final, cratering year I was expecting after all. Even that 30k PSV sold is more promising than last year, when we were seeing like 5k for the whole month occasionally (though I suppose there's still chance for that to happen).
