I've always thought people knew about it. The Duscae region has ALWAYS been in the final game, as well as CIdney so I'm confused why people would think they won't be included.

Cidney is ofc gonna be in the final game, the developers said your gonna see her multiple times throughout your journey, the question is whether the events that happen in the demo, ie the cutscenes where you meet Cidney, are gonna be in the final game.

Most likely, yes it will. The quest itself might differ in the final game but meeting Cidney in the gas station might be the same or maybe longer in the final game with more dialogue. Other than that, there isn't much events in the demo as it is devoid of any story elements.

Also, if Episode Duscae is a prequel to FFXV, doesn't that mean that a bunch of content from Versus XIII was cut as well? Unless I'm mistaken Episode Duscae is set after Niflheim's attack on Insomnia (the capital city of Lucis), an event that was featured in many of Versus XIII's trailers, including this one. All of that content I was looking forward to playing, just gone I hate you so much Square Enix.

Never did they say it was a prequel nor is the region in the demo gonna be scrapped. It is and it will be in the final game, only much bigger. The only things not gonna be in the final game is your progress in the demo and the limitations in gameplay placed in the demo(No magic). Certain locations of enemies, items, weapns and monsters will also most likely be changed as they were only placed in the demo for convenience.

There is one video or interview wherein they said that part of the game happens sometime in the middle or near the start(forgot the specifics) but of course Episode Duscae itself was developed separately and is intended to be a unique experience on it's own(again some elements taken out and some made achievable or obtainable for the sake of the demo) since it's just a demo.

There's no point in having a 2-3 hours mission to fill our car. :P

I think it only takes time in the demo because you start at level 1 I think or a very low level which is why it takes a couple of hours for you to defeat certain enemies and bosses. You'll most likely spend those hours levelling up so in the final game the behemoth mission could probably just last a few minutes.

This seems strange to me. Why would they waste time designing a region and then not use it in the final game? Square Enix, you so stupid.

At least it explains why they only finished 5% since TGS. Hopefully now that they're done with it development for the full game will really speed up.

The region IS in the final game.

He was being very conservative with that estimate, he said it could jump to 80% very fast, it just depends on how smooth the development goes.  It woulda been bad if he over-promised and then they hit a problem in development.

Yeah I'm hoping that's the case. Hopefully we get a Spring 2016 release date.

Won't be available in its current state. They must have changed it to make the demo balanced.

Off topic:

Got it today, Hehehe xD

Non-Limited Edition. Not jelly.

Paid $60 for what will be $20 in less than a year.  Not jelly :P.

Then enjoy your demo-less version.

Dont believe it. The demo is just going to be an "what if" scenario.

This demo is a waste of time. They should be working in bringing the final game out. How long is this demo pushing back the final release? I dont think we will see the game for another 2 years.
