3rd world countries for the win

The demo won't be available till the 17th though, but you do have type-0 which is equally enjoyable. Do enjoy and post your impressions if you have time!

Played for a little while. It is fast paced and enjoyable indeed. I don't have high expectations for Type-0 but it should be fun.

Won't be available in its current state. They must have changed it to make the demo balanced.

Whoa lucky let me know what you think of it

I actually love this, it means the demo isnt just going to be a section of the story I will play later on and doesnt spoil a whole lot of the game for me. Anyone who doesnt play while technically missing out on this exclusive mission(s) isnt really missing anything though as its not really a part of the actual game anyway.

amazon hasn't even shipped my copy yet ):

first they said the demo was only a small portion of the actual full game and is supposed to give players an idea what to expect and an early view at the story, now it will not even be in the game at all

color me confused

They said the same thing with Bravely Default None of Bravely Default's demo's quests were in the game. You did quests in a small area and its dungeons that was in the full game though.

I hope you are right because otherwise that won't make any, sense.

I've always thought people knew about it. The Duscae region has ALWAYS been in the final game, as well as CIdney so I'm confused why people would think they won't be included.

Cidney is ofc gonna be in the final game, the developers said your gonna see her multiple times throughout your journey, the question is whether the events that happen in the demo, ie the cutscenes where you meet Cidney, are gonna be in the final game.

Also, if Episode Duscae is a prequel to FFXV, doesn't that mean that a bunch of content from Versus XIII was cut as well? Unless I'm mistaken Episode Duscae is set after Niflheim's attack on Insomnia (the capital city of Lucis), an event that was featured in many of Versus XIII's trailers, including this one. All of that content I was looking forward to playing, just gone I hate you so much Square Enix.

Isn't that city being attacked in that trailer the same city being attacking in the E3 re-reveal trailer of FFXV?  I thought they just completely changed the look because of the extra power from the current gen consoles.

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Here is a quote I've taken from Square Enix's fact sheet about the demo, and its possible relation to the story:

"When you’ve spent your entire life looking out at the serrated city skyline, it’s easy to lose yourself in the sprawling Duscaen landscape. The prince and his retinue were halfway to Cauthess when their daydreams came to a sudden, screeching halt—the Regalia’s last gasp before giving out to the unpaved backroads. Now they were truly lost in the landscape: broken down by the side of the road with the Disc well out of walking distance. The Archaean, Titan, would have to wait. He’d been dormant for ages anyway. The first order of business was getting back on four wheels."

*Speculation Time*- From the sounds of it, they could be fleeing Insomnia to try to get help, meaning it is not a prequel to the story. Also, in regards to your first comment:

"The part you’ll be able to explore in Episode Duscae is only part of the region, which itself is part of a bigger world more than 10 times bigger than the Duscae region itself."

Looks like we're A-OK about that part.
