Dump the goddamn QTEs and the franchise will improve a lot

If it's God of War: Ragnarok it could be the best one yet. Those Gods are so varied and so defined they just lend themselves to an awesome set of boss battles. They can keep the theme by having Odin betray you in the beginning (you being a new protagonist who cuts ice or whatever they do up there).

I think it'll be either Nordic or Egypt stuff.

I would love an Egypt reboot but Norse seems to have more varied Gods that lend themselves to boss battles more.  Plus all the separate worlds could fill a trilogy at least.

I am Iron Man

If they pick a new main character and he fights norse and Egyptian gods mainly then it could be epic. Otherwise a solid game like god of war ascension but nothing out of this world like god of war 1,2,3.

Hope as good as God of War 3. Man, God of War 3 was such a great game.

Hmmmm how do you mean? Like an open world setting with tasks for strangers, an honour system, an random events?

Basically a RDR with a samurai in the Edo Japan.

You can, choose to be good or bad, it would matter as in RDR, with events do,help it, helping people in villages, being lonely with only a horse, with a good deep story to do, challenges, hunting, treasures, and all that. IMO it could turn awesome.

Yea that could work. IMO the most interesting part of a game in that setting would be the scenerey, combat, and lore

I believe God of War IV can and will be the best in the series yet! I have faith in Cory Barlog and can't wait to see what they can achieve on the PS4.

I hope for Kratos to return as protagonist and a new mythology (Egyptian) to be introduced without completely abandoning Greek mytho.

Also want multiplayer to return now that they have a very solid foundation to build upon. Not buying a PS4 until this game releases lol

You say that as if the Greek mythology was isolated from the Egyptian mythology. In truth these cultures lived in co-existence and they were influenced by each other. Many Greek gods originated from the East, like Aphrodite and Artemis for example.

Isis was one of the most important godesses in Ancient Rome. Mithras was also an important god/mystery cult in Rome and he was a Persian god.

Ptolemy I even created a Graeco-Egyptian god named Serapis in the third century B.C. to unite the Greeks and Egyptians in his realm.

I hate how poorly researched the GoW franchise is. Hercules should be named Herakles if the setting is Greek mythology. One of many errors in the franchise.

Well, Greek mythology hardly has anything left to be abandoned to begin with, Kratos made no exceptions

Also, GoW was always a very beautiful looking franchise, and after The Order... damn it'll be insane xD

The battles can also be extra epic with a lot of stuff going over, GoW shall be amazing!

The GoW franchise hasn't even scratched the surface of Greek mythology.

Well, Kratos is there for a decade I can understand, but I still love him xD

With a new mythology it could be another char, just need to feel as great as Kratos was. Maybe even a decendent of his.

He was fun to play but his whole character relies on getting revenge, after he got it I just had no desire to play as him anymore.  I can't think of any character development past the background info we got on him in the whole trilogy.  He's the same person in GoW 3 that he was in GoW 1 just more powerful.

that sounds an aweful lot like a critique of story elements.   story no matter no?  all gameplay amirite?

It will look mind blowing; but I hope it will have a more 'advanced' and dinamic gameplay.
