I wouldnt consider this a cheat. ^-^)/

Yeah, "cheating" in video games I would say is not a concrete term. SaveStates I think pretty much gives you a checkpoint whenever you want so I would personally consider that a "cheat", but to each and their own.

When i check gamefaqs because im stuck in a videogame i feel like the worst man alive.

I'm pretty sure walkthroughs are not considered cheating though..

it is for me.

"If you have 'cheated' to get past a part of a game, how has that made you feel? How do you feel about people who 'cheat' in games?"

I'm glad walkthroughs aren't part of the rules since I use them quite a bit. Nowadays, I play for the experience of the game, but my backlog is so huge that I mostly just play for completion and to finish the game. Some gamers might look down on that, but there's only so much free time in a day/week/month, so I just want to finish my damn backlog before I die. lol So save states and walkthroughs are my best friend.

In other words, I approve of cheats as a means to an end: To further enjoy and finish a game. I don't feel bad about it at all. Better to cheat and get past a part that you've been stuck on in order to see the ending than to put in all that hard work and have it be for nothing.

Cheating in multiplayer, though? Definite no-no.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

If it's programmed into the game, it's not cheating imo. Gamesharks were cheating though. Personally, I don't have a problem with it as long as you're ok with it yourself. I never feel satisfied using cheat codes so what I do is beat the game legit once, then have fun with codes on the second run-through.

When I cheat, it makes me feel so dirty... T.T like I have given up on the game and am not skilled enough to do it. I`ve only done it a few times, but only when I am absolutely stumped...

How do you expect me not to cheat and exploit anything if pressing one lousy button repeatedly is faster than walking?

.- -... -.-. -..

I don't use them since games don't really have them anymore. But in the past, everytime I cheated, I felt a little guilty.

I don;t think I've ever used a cheat to get past a particularly tricky or annoying part of a game. But I have used GP and XP exploits in a few RPG games (Dragon Age for instance). And I've used instant item creating codes in a few games to get me some high quality armour and weapons. But for the most part these cheats have not been used in first plays through of a game, though mostly because I don't know about the exploits when I first play a game and I only learn of them later.

I don't have a problem with cheating when it's only between you and your console / PC (or co-op). If I want to feel a sense of achievement at having beaten a challenging game then I won't use any cheats or exploits. If I just want to play a game and see what happens at the end, and in particular not get bogged down in drawn out battles, then I will use exploits that help up the pace of the game. Using cheats and exploits when competing against other people = bad and I would never do that.

I cheat in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. I change the clock so I dont have to wait a billion years for something to be built or open e~e Im inpatient

I love cheats!!! But I usually don't use them to get passed certain frustrating points, really hard bosses or levels. I love cheats that let me mess around like the cheats in GTA..... All of them except 5. GTA V has the lamest cheats in GTA history.

Exploits, now those I often run into. Like in Dying Light. I can level my characters survivor skill up completely in a few hours. But it takes away the fun from the game a bit so I restarted and decided not to use it.
