Forums - Gaming Discussion - Digital Foundry: Hands-on with Sony's near-final Project Morpheus

I am curious to see how things will turn out with it

Sounds like Sony is working hard on this.

Hard to believe that the PS Move is still relevant but not the Wiimote.

Well, I heard it's not mandatory. The controller with PS camera might be sufficient. Otherwise I think it's not very convenient to use, in my opinion. And would require way too much hardware.

Both Digital Foundry and ArsTechnica have commented on how much better the Move is.

I didn't argue it wasn't better.

Shouldnt that morpheus helm also work on pc?

It's only announced for PS4. Sony will probably keep it PlayStation-exclusive.

then 1080p and 120hz is overkill, what is sony up to?

I am curious to see what they are trying to give us. I hope there is more to VR than just playing the traditional games that we already have, but in VR. I want totally new experiences that make actual use of it as experience, not as an alternative way to display graphics.

well since we gamers cant come up with anything except porn im pretty sure theres no new thing..

if this thing able to work as a normal PS4 video output, it will be what i want, i want to lay on bed and play all my PS4 games...

Well it looks like Move has a bright future...if VR can actually take off.

I think VR is probably about the only situation where I think I will enjoy FPS because it is finaly a method by which I could actually feel like I am looking out of my own eyes. However I also get the feeling Morpheus and its ilk will be too expensive for me to justify.

I think VR will be successful because several big companies are developing their own devices to support it. Facebook, Valve, Sony and Microsoft are showing enough support for developers have a reason to develope VR games.

So they just put a Galaxy Note 3 Display in there^^ But I guess that's the cool thing to do nowadays.

I can see high spec'd smartphones as a cheap way to get into VR. Produce a headset in which you can slot a 5.5" smartphone with a VR streaming app and voila!

It pretty clear they are about games desiged for vr . basing that of their demos.

I even don't know if "games" are what will give VR the push or are the right "product" for VR at this point.

I agree. There is the obvious thing about VR porn. But I think there need to be other popular used for VR for it to really become a mainstream product.
