Yeah. The framerate  is really bad though.

Yes, because currently it uses software rendering and emulator is in early state, performance always comes later. But rendering with opengl has been implemented on a branch:

Huh. Thanks for telling me why it's slow!

You are welcome. People would think the core of the system is slow but it's only the rendering as the video shows us. CPU emulation seems to be not that of a problem (no wonder, both CPUs are stock arm cpus and slow ones, too).

Really a shame that Nintendo just gave the system a rougly 1x1 pixel display.

Because they games look awesome.

Btw I think the same about the 3DS's 2x2 pixel display or the Wii.   It would have been perfect if the Wii's standard resolution would have been 1024x576 without more polygons or more effects etc keep the same graphics just UP the resolution ... but 480p is just too blurry. (Still dont understand why the Wii did offer 480i 480p 576i but not 576p*)

* this 576p is not 1024x576 but 640x576 but its still better than 640x480

Wow, talk about remasters! Professor Layton???

It's like a whole new game!

Since there have been threads for Wii/GC/PS2 emulators showing off games in HD, I decided I'd post a thread for Nintendo DS games using a special version of th DeSMuMe emulator that allows them to be rendered at higher resolutions (instead of magnified like other emulators.) The games are at 1024*768 (highest option) with 4xAA 16xAF.

I'll probably post one game per post, and compare them with screen shots of the game on DS.

Metroid Prime: Hunters

Emulator

DS

How do you post a screenshot from a single DS screen and in that resolution? When I use the ingame image capture it's really low res and captures both screens.

Darn it, now I really want the next DS to have HD graphics.... >A
