Forums - Nintendo - Xenoblade X might hit June: UPDATE: Michael of Nintendo Favorited it???

They just take longer to release than most other publishers. Probably cos they hold games back until they are ridiculously polished.

But Xenoblade X is releasing next month.

In Japan. If it's anything like the first game it'll have a metric gigaton of text and voice to be translated.

What's so surprising? they've been localizing the game since the beggining. It's surprising it's not releasing at the same time as the japanese version.

Not really, localizing takes a lot of time especially with big games like this, it's not as simple as just straight off translating text...

Since Japan's release was in April, I was assuming that the Western release would be sometime in late August - September.

However, you will have to be very sceptical about the release because Amazon IT also set release dates for Zelda U and Splatoon.

You're not getting it. localizing generally takes long because companies tend to start the process late (in some cases, only after the japanese version is out). I know translation isn't easy but this one probably started with the project, so it wouldn't be surprising to be ready two months after the japanese one.

I know, I'm not saying that it is impossible for them to release localized games within a 2 month range .. Nintendo released many WW games within a few days of each other (MK8, Pokemon) but since this is a massive game and has a lot of text, presumably, I highly doubt that the June release date is accurate.

I may be wrong, though, because this is all speculation..

The size of the project was not the cause of the delay in Xenoblade's localization. Treehouse keeps pretty busy, but they always manage to translate Zelda in time for a simultaneous release.

Absolutely. I only have vacations in June-August and December-January. Would love to get it sooner though, more time for Zelda U in the case of Wii U.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

This is within what i was expecting given the localisation had already been started last year. Its also something that was necessary for the Wii U software scheduale aswell.

I'm very pleased with it.

Zelda is understandably a higher priority, as well as havign a fraction as much material to translate.

omg if that's true I won't have money for a Wii U or the game at that time dammit
