It looks like the PS4 actually outsold the XB1 by about a 3:1 ration in Jan/Feb, instead of the 2:1 ratio using current charts.

Not sure what Microsoft's next move will be.

/surrender ? FF at 20 .

Good for Sony and high sales mean more great content for PlayStation gamers.

Another monopolized generation, that´s very possitive for the game industry. Or maybe not.

The message that the industry is getting now is very sad, we don´t need new good games, we don´t need to be honest, we don´t need to be different, we don´t need good exlusives, we only need hype, marketing and numbers to sell whatever we want.

Btw, congratulation for that numbers, is really a big achievement.

But the PS4 has good games and a reputation of delivering good games.  The Order is heavily underrated by the press (game is good, not great), Infamous was a good to great open world game, LBP3 was every bit as good as the previous games, Final Fantasy XIV was a huge 3rd party grab, and the PS4 had decent games at launch compared to consoles of past (as did X1), and it has the best HW to run 3rd party gamed outside of PC.  The only bomb Sony really put out was Driveclub, which is a competent racer with nothing special aside from graphics (horrid launch though).

While hype has played a factor, it is still very much games and reputation pushing the PS4 as well.  Lets also not forget how the competition dropped the ball.

How the industry is getting this message?

Very good point!  We need adjustments to reflect this.  Hard to believe they did it without china launch.

With China it would be 20.3 million. So not exactly a game changer.

Imagine what it would be like once they do.

No, the message is "if you're the only one to not fuck anything up, you're probably going to win". Sony haven't done anything particularly exceptional so far this gen (no one has really), but unlike Nintendo and MS, they didn't shoot themselves in the foot. Add in that the PS4 is an affordable console with decent hardware, a pretty good overall library (considering its age) and plenty of highly anticipated exclusives and multi-plats, and its sales are somewhat unsurprising.

Leave Wayne Gretzky out of this!

Gretzky was "The Great One". The "King" is King Ringless, aka Henrik Lundqvist, aka The King without a Crown.

The King has won the most important of all - The Olympics ;)

That said, he wont be ringless come summer 2015 - Rangers will win the cup this year.

Looks like the ps4 will actually pull a ps2 numbers after all. Congratulations to sony. Now, all what I want is for the PS3 to hit the 100 million.

PS3 stands at 86 million now. I doubt it'll sell 14 million in the next few years
