The qestion is simple, among the first-party published game, which ones do you think each of them is best and worst at? I think Sony is best at hack n slash , simulation racing and TPS games. MS is best at FPS games. Nintendo is best at platformers.

Marcus Fenix and Cereza disagree.

Nathan Drake and Kratos disagree with you.

Now which genre is that? Pretty much half of all games these days have story telling.

Crash was made by Naughty Dog, which is owned by Sony. You can argue semantics about the fact that Sony didn't own ND at the time, knock yourself out.

Sly and Ratchet (which is the main reason why I put Sony first with 3D platformers) are alive anyway. I could argue that the Galaxy subseries is dead too.

Just because R&C dares to incorporate other mechanics than pure platforming doesn't make the games not be platformers.

Not semantics, you don't see me claiming games like Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day for Nintendo. And Nintendo actually owned half of Rare back then.

Sly and Ratchet's recent sales haven't been good. I doubt we'll see Sly return anytime soon. As for Ratchet, never said it was dead, though a lot of it will depend on how his new game will sell this year.

I reckon we'll get another Sly in 2016, to coincide with the release of the movie, just like they're doing with Ratchet this year. okay, disregard Crash then, but imo Ratchet and Sly and Jak alone give it to Sony. I know many will disagree with this, but it's my opinion.

Sony publishes them so it should fit

I was just wondering, because Insomniac develops the games. But if it counts:

Sony: 3D platformers , action-adventure (Uncharted), racing sim, hack and slash

Nintendo: 2D platformers, whatever genre Zelda is in, RPGs (Xenoblade, Fire Emblem)

MS: FPS, TPS (Gears)

one question, is this about which genres do we think the big three's games are the best in the industry, or best of the big three?

I was talking about best in the industry.

Okay, have to change some things then.

-Uncharted is not a TPS (it have TPS steps, but the series is a action-adventure game)

-Cereza eat Kratos alive imo, Bayonetta is more fast, have more combo, Bayonetta during 10-12 hours or more, not 5-7, Bayonetta have best soundrack, and honestly, GoW starting to be boring after 1-2 hours, not a bad game, but not a masterpiece.

Nintendo: Adventure (Zelda), Platformers (2D: Donkey Kong and 3D: Mario), RPG (Xenoblade), Strategy (Fire Emblem) , Kart Racer (Mario Kart), Brawl Fighter (Super Smash Bro).
Sony: Action (Uncharted), Action-Adventure(Last of Us), Racing (Gran Tusimo), Sports (MLB).
Microsoft: Fighter (KI), and FPS (Halo)

Microsoft was the harder one, because right now fighter genre is again on the backburner.

Yes I truly believe these games are the best at what they do.

I might remove FPS if Call of Duty was on top of its game again, or if Bioshock wasn't dead.

More Information: Now I know Uncharted is Action-Adventure, just that I didn't find the Adventure half to be as strong as Zelda. Zelda also being Action-Adventure didn't have Action side be as strong as the Adventure side. Last of Us is the well rounded of the two.

More of the story driven games, more cinematic, etc.

Uncharted, Last Of Us.

Stories that have solid emotional appeal, with high to superb production values.
