But we ARE offended by violence. There exist ratings to filter those things out just as there exist ratings to filter out sexuality.

Whatever the case, ask 50 different people, you will probably get 50 different answers. We all have our limits, it just so happens that needless violence is almost universally condemned whilst sexuality is more under contention.

Punch someone with zero provocation, police will arrest you and it will probably be very hard to get someone to side with you. Go around in bikini or shirtless and some may object, others will shrug their shoulders or check you out. There's more room for discussion in the latter which brings the topic to the forefront and could make it seem as though sexuality is more offensive than violence.

Just some random thoughts I had on the subject.

I think we need more sexuality than violence in video games.
To be frank, we need more cute girls doing cute things.

There's many groups of people with different agendas or reasoning behind being against violence and sex in video games & RL. I could go into a lengthy rant about 'em but I'll keep it short. Instead of the prudish people censoring/denying out the things the rest of us enjoy, they could just turn away and not pay attention, let other people live the way they want to live. If they don't want their kids playing games then don't let 'em. I'm comfortable with sexualized and violent games.

Put it this way, You're more likely to see a Naked body then one with its head blown off.

The market will do what the market will do. I personally don't want sexual games as I personally can't see the appeal for video game sex, but if y'all want it, write to your favorite creators/publishers.

I think it has to do with incorperating sexual acts into gameplay that get people offended. It's A LOT easier to make a game based on violence than it is on sex (I mean just imagine little girls and boys controlling a VG Character to pressing A to HUMP and B to go faster)! Plus you have all sort of perverts that could make games on all types of Hentai based themes that can REALLY offend people (especially females, and rightfully so).

If you ask me, it's parents that dictate this, as a society it's become more acceptable to see someones head blown off with a shotgun than seeing sexual acts. But put yourself in parents shoes, as a father WOULD YOU REALLY WANT YOUR DAUGHTER TO PLAY A GAME THAT HAS SEXUAL GAMEPLAY ATTACHED TO IT, and as a mother WOULD YOU REALLY LIKE YOUR SON TO LEARN ABOUT SEX THAT WAY? I am extremely open minded, but I have to REALLY question if I want my daughter exposed to sex in games especially if it's the hentai kind (something like that can REALLY DISTURB a child and make them feel EXTREMELY VUNERABLE). I bring this up because we already have EXTREME Violence in games, now imagine Extreme sexual content?

I'm not a fan of that much sex in games OR movies for that matter. IMO then don't really move the plot in ANY SORT of way. Violence however is like a guilty pleasure! We can laugh about it on screen cause it's not real (least I do lol).

Besides if I want to see something sexual I'll just see a porno !
