But we ARE offended by violence. There exist ratings to filter those things out just as there exist ratings to filter out sexuality.

Whatever the case, ask 50 different people, you will probably get 50 different answers. We all have our limits, it just so happens that needless violence is almost universally condemned whilst sexuality is more under contention.

Punch someone with zero provocation, police will arrest you and it will probably be very hard to get someone to side with you. Go around in bikini or shirtless and some may object, others will shrug their shoulders or check you out. There's more room for discussion in the latter which brings the topic to the forefront and could make it seem as though sexuality is more offensive than violence.

Just some random thoughts I had on the subject.
