I have a strong feeling that if this was a multiplatform game it would already be last weeks news, another game that simply failed to meet expectations, it happens.

Metacritic specifically, and reviews in general, are rubbish, but not just because they gave The Order low scores, they've been that way for a long time.

My advice, find a reviewer or a few reviewers who's tastes generally align with your own and leave behind this e-peen Metacritic nonsense, it's so juvenile it makes my brain hurt. I promise you'll enjoy your gaming much more if you do.

I think partially the game industry itself is part of the problem: Why did demos die? Seriously, let me try the game before I buy it! Make it time-limited (for games that actually are 10+ hours) or limit the team-selection in sports games or whatever. But let me try it! I want to build up my own opinion and don't want to rely only on professional users or fanboys where it turns out in the end were intentionally taking longer to beat a game to prove reviews wrong or early walkthrouhgs on youtube.

demos are now called beta...

If only! I don't want "demos" only for shooters and to test online playability, I want to test the game itself! Thinking of it, I would really like a rental service like EA Access or PS+ or XBL Gold for every game for a certain number of games. Pay per month (not PSNow, that is, I want it on the actual console) for a, let's say, 5 games, and if I finished them, I can exchange for other games, while not owning any game. Or make it 3 games. Whatever. There is no reason in buying these games anymore if there is no actual replay value. But especially don't expect me to spend 60 euros to buy your too short, perhaps broken, unpatched mess of a game!

the game isnt too short, the price is just to high.  a 40$ price would be much better for the game.

and they cant do a real renting service because tht would kill AAA games.

Yeah, I understand this. But the current situation is still unsatisfying, in my opinion.

I am eager to see what people will say when UC4 launches and gets a metascore above 90... "They can't be trusted, I won't listen to them! Dat bias!"...

so you're going to brush every sony fan with one opinion for your console war ammunition, for when UC4 comes out

most people are saying it isn't a 2/10,not saying it is a 9.5/10,the order is an average game 65/75 meta sounds fine to me

personally i'm happy the reviewers are downgrading scores form the stupidly high scores of last generation given out like candy

Every story has to be about something i suppose

The Order was in development for like five years. They had plenty of time to make an appealing game. They just failed with this one.

hard to see it selling 5m with the reviews, but might get high due to being a bundle stalwart

I think he meant lifetime sales. But you should keep an eye on next months total sales and how fast it reaches 1 MIL.

of course LTD,you'd be mad to think this would open with 5m

the order will easily sell 1m,personally i'll buy it digital when it hits a sale

its a guaranteed PS plus game but that is most likely well over a year away

The game is bad. But you can like bad games.

Agreed. I suspect this game wouldn't have anywhere near as many defenders if it wasn't an exclusive.

I mean, look at the reaction to exclusives like The Order and Driveclub scoring low compared to the reaction to multiplats like Assassin's Creed Unity or Dying Light scoring low.

You are the one that said "sales show quality." What I'm saying is that sales indicate that people are ignoring review scores and that their own opinion of the game's quality isn't isolated to just a number. Understand?

As far as Wii Fit sales (mostly from casual non-gamers). Depends on if your goal is to get fit or to play an ingrosing survival game.

Show me where I said that.

I quoted what you said. You asked the quesiton, "If sales show quality..." thus inpying that we must use the same mesure of quaility when talking about Wii Fit sales.

But it was you that asked the quesiton in the first place. Sales show interests in a game. It shows that reviews don't have the same effect as they did  in the past. It shows that people are using their own mind instead of beliving everthing that reviwers say.

That also means that you can also have a game that doesn't sall well, but to YOU is a great game.

Exactly. 1M to 2M is good in the next year. But for lifetime? Not sure.
