Haven't you just been ridiculing someone  earlier in this thread for calling Ratchet and Clank a platformer (which it is regarded as) because 100% of the focus wasn't on platforming?

The focus of the singleplayer is platforming, the focus of the online is a  turf based third person shooter.

Ratchet & Clank has vast open levels with enemies to beat up. There's very little platforming in those games. If you think Ratchet & Clank is a platformer I advise you to 100% DKC: TF with just DK.

lol are you really trying to argue that rachet and clank is not a platformer?

It says a lot that the only footage you could find was a minute long and in 240p.

Did you play the PS2 games?

Did you?

Very first sentence on wikipedia for the franchise:

Ratchet & Clank is a series of platform video games

Democratic Republic of Congo. Show me the platforming in the very first R & C game please.

There's a misconception in the gaming industry that every cartoony game is automatically a platformer. I judge games by what I've played.

Oh you like your Democratic Republic of Congo thing. The problem with your example is, wikipedia is actually a democratic encyclopedia. However,

I think you'll find you're in a very small minority of people who don't consider Ratchet and Clank a platformer. Magazines call them platformers, websites call them platformers, gamers call them platformers. If you don't view them as platformers, you're out of touch with pretty much everyone else.

IGN - Insomniac's current-generation debut hits the platformer mark.

GameSpot - The platform genre is well-worn territory. The 2D platformer was driven completely into the ground back in the 16-bit era, and we're starting to see an awful lot of repetition in the 3D platformer arena, as well. Most 3D platformers are full of backtracking, poor camera work, and countless little doodads to collect. However, Ratchet & Clank skillfully avoids most of the traps that hold back the majority of modern platform games.

Eurogamer - This compilation captures Ratchet & Clank at their innovative, genre-bending best. Great games at a great price make for a compelling if disappointingly businesslike package. If you have any fondness for the platforming genre, you owe it to yourself to sample this greatest hits compilation from arguably the last worthy faces to grace the genre.

Seems to me everyone views these are platform games first and foremost.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Most people (uneducated masses) didn't believe in a spherical world in the middle ages/antiquity despite scientific proof that is over 2000 years old.

Okay, so you have scientific proof that Ratchet and Clank isn't a platform game? I'd like to see that. Please note that your own opinion is not scientific proof.

Without this I will just assume you are trying to bait me at this point.
