Does Gamespot hate Nintendo?

Yes 155 65.40%

No 81 34.18%

Total:236

That looser of reviewer didn't even know how to play the game. the idiot even complains that kirby doesn't have any attacks (wich he does), so I'm guessing she tried playing the game without knowing the basic mechanics.

The problem seems to be specific reviewers that aren't qualified for the job.

I don't particularly like Gamespot, but it's not a bad site IMVHO, and I prefer sites that don't give away high scores too easily. Anyhow, such situations are the reasons why I prefer sites and magazines that give scores with 100 possible values (either going from 0 to 100 or from 0 to 10 with one tenth granularity, that's not really important, although I prefer from 0 to 100).
Going from 0 to 10 with one or at best one half granularity sometimes isn't enough to properly rank many different games in the higher end of rankings, where there could be many technically excellent but just a few outstanding, so giving 9.5 and 10 just to the best ones would push back a lot also the best of the rest, and push even lower games that are just a little worse without really being bad or flawed.

They don't hate Nintendo, they just dislike their games.

The problem is that Nintendo games don't meet the high quality standards of a Gamespot critic, it's simple.

Bravo, you are the master of sarcasm!!!

My hat to you...

They gave Bayonetta 2 a 10

I do think they're not as Nintendo friendly as some other sites but I don't believe they hate the big N

Not every game deserves 8.5 and above, but Gamespot definitely seems to like clickbait.
As much as they downplay certain Nintendo games (giving Zelda games below an 8 will automatically cause a huge stream of people to read their review in anger as opposed to them giving it a 9) just as giving ALWB game of the year causes numerous clicks (I loved the game but even I would not give it GOTY).

That being said Tropical Freeze getting a 6 is just downright cruel.

The only odd thing is Donkey Kong and Rayman Legends.

Presumably they had someone different review Rayman on PS3. In terms DK they probably got someone bitter it wasn't metroid or someone is isn't a huge fan of platformers. I haven't heard one bad word about that game other then it not being vastly different from its predecessor.

Then again if I could be bothered to read the DK review maybe they have legit reasoning

No, it's the same person: Tom Mc Shea, the same that reviewed DK: TP.

The only other reason, besides bias, that can explain the Rayman's Legend score aberration, is incompetence!

Tom Mc shea is either biased or incompetent!

I read some pretty bad things about Kirby. There's better scapegoats out there.

I think it's more a case of Gamespot being poorly run. A lot of negative Nintendo reviews that I have seen from them have come down to the reviewer simply not enjoying the genre but needing to review it or not knowing how to play the game and criticising it for lacking something it actually has.

One thing you have to remember about Gamespot is that they use the full scale when reviewing games, 1-10, whereas alot of other reviewers use a half scale (50-100 on metacritic). So when Gamespot says a game is a 5, it's average, so equivalent to a 75 from reviewers that use the 50-100 scale. And when they say a game is a 7.5, that's good but not amazing, so equivalent to a 87.5 from a reviewer that uses the 50-100 scale.

Link to a reviewer that uses a 50-100 scale?

No reviewer officially does, but look at just how many reviewers mainly only rate games between 50-100? It's alot. Very few reviewers give games scores under 50 consistently. Gametrailers for instance, in their history they have given just 78 games a score under 50, compared to over 1,200 games for Gamespot. Gamespot seems to use the full 1-10 scale, just as that Gamespot employee said they do in the video I linked.

I know there aren't any that actually use it. It was sarcasm because the claim is dumb. The reason why most games get 50-100 is because the majority of games aren't bad or mediocre experiences. Every site or critic is guilty of scores on both sides of the spectrum. Trying to qualify one over the other can be quite difficult.
