That may be the case too. Michael Damiani of Gametrailers reviews many of the Ninten games and he gets a lot of flack for his scores (The infamous Wind Waker 7.8) and the staff say he`s a big Ninten fan.

I agree with all of those scores. I also agree with Gamespot's scores generally.

I think their is some truth to that, Nintendo gamers do generally talk of high standards, possibly as a group they are the most hardcore of gamers, it's possible that the reviewers at Gamespot are serious Nintendo fans

That's a lot of possibilities. 

they tend to score Nintendo games and PS games lower than PC or XB. It could be their taste tend that way. As long as they are consistent with their low scoring I could careless. If I know a 7 on GS is a good score I am fine with a 7, if they go and give broken games like a 9 then I will just ignore them.

Microsoft- Gamespot here is 1 million for advertising spots. We still expect you to be fair and balanced in your reviews.... just like fox news is fair in balanced.... we will see you next year to discuss future agreements, but like we said this does not mean we want you to favor us IN ANY WAY.

Note I am joking- please do not take this seriously. I am sure they people writing the review try their best as their own reputations are on the line.

I suspect that Sony owns Gamespot via one of its subsidiaries.

There's no reason other than being comprised of individual people with biases. It's sad, but the industry is just jam-packed with people who even as professional adults carry the adolescent need to be "mature" and prefer anything with guns over simple fun any day. (And I'm not saying that every person who doesn't prefer Nintendo is this way; just that a lot of people are.)
