One of the cons established is the key reason I am not getting it. I just very much dislike QTE, they sort of take me out of the moment.

I have no problem with QTE as long as it is implemented only in situations where it wouldn't be possible for the player to interact in a diferent way.(example:some epic boss battles in God of War series). When QTE are implemented everywhere though....

They just take me right out, in small dosage I can learn to ignore them and even think they don't exist, but from my understanding this game isn't a small dosage of them.

I once did a troll thread regarding this game bashing it because it had QTE's (mocking people who bashed Ryse for its QTE's as well). People who know me also knows that I love QTE's, and it pains me to actually see The Order being bashed for it.

I don't mind QTE's at all. After all, they are in some of my favorite games like the triangle prompt in Kingdom Hearts II and the God of War franchise. I had problems with Ryse for other reasons (e.g. framerate issues and story).

OT: That's actually not that bad of a score. What I hope that if RAD decides to make The Order into a franchise, they improve on the flaws.

I don't either, but I'd be really interested in seeing the 'next-gen' gameplay that all these review sites talk about, that's so much better.  I mean, you'd think if they had all these awesome ideas, we'd have seen some of them implemented in a game by now.

I'll still buy it.

This is my favorite review in awhile. Let's you know exactly who it's for. Much better than most "professional" reviews nowadays.

Also the article says that this is high for this magazine perhaps they're tough graders? Still a 70 meta would be above expectations at this point.

It seems that a lot of people have decided this game is mediocre because of ONE review. Amazing. I guess the 10/10 from the Youtube guy doesn't count because he's not particularly articulate and isn't a 'professional' journalist, and everyone knows you have to have a high IQ to fully understand when a game is good or bad.

Most of the reviews are probably going to be worse than the french one, but ok, i get you.

Reviewing a cinematic game on the easy mode.

I don't doubt the reviewer, but isn't easy the quickest (sometimes with less content) option. You shouldn't expect to be challenged on easy.

The cons are some major concerns, aren't they?

- Gameplay is meh
- You don't want to play it again
- You have to watch hours of cutscenes and the gaming part can be done in 180 minutes.

I don't see how a "great atmosphere" and "nice visuals" can be enough to get such a high score.
But yeah, that is the broken review system for you.

Gameplay was marked as a pro though - "Quick gameplay"

Its the break in gameplay that they dont seem to like. So perhaps they wanted more freedom to play using what they consider good gameplay and less obstruction to the enjoyment of that gameplay.

How did you get "gameplay is meh" from OP :?

It's not mentioned in the OP, but Rapier later did not like how the story ended. If I were to paraphase, he said that the story was decent, but had wasted potential. Still though, not a bad start for RAD and they can definitely improve on the storywriting.
