I don't think there are games that are too complicated. There are only shitty tutorials.

Kids these days with their tutorials!

/me is totally ignoring his ludology training which highlight Super Mario Bros first level as the ultimate tutorial, and his personal academic analysis of the first level of Super Mario World which reveals its execution of those concepts and was his first game as a kid.

Only if "Trial and Error" is your choice of tutorial. First level of SMB is pretty much all T&E. No explanations given whatsoever and you will die if you have the wrong assumption.

True, the game is designed so that if you assume the Goomba at the start wants to hug you, you'll learn it doesn't without being sent back any annoying distance because the encounter is at the start of the level. I mean if you've got a kid who is is gonna touch the stove at some point, you're gonna want to control them learning the stove is hot. I mean lets face it, sooner or later players need to learn the health-system, and sooner is better.

A truly genius design because you don't even realize you had your hand held.

Same game. I bought it on day one and thought it was going to be my Goty. Finished the tutotial and a couple of battles and realized I had retained almost nothing. I still got my money's worth because I saw some full frontal nudity but damn, that game was too much. I don't know how PC gamers deal with that crap!

Resonance of fate.

i never really learned to play blast corps on the n64 never really mastered it and i played it for years.

Tsubasa Ozora

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

3D games in general seem to be too complicated for me. Especially ones where you have to jump a lot. I hate being killed by a goomba or such in Galaxy because of the shitty 3D jumping.

Also, modern shooters wehere you use the second stick for direct control of the gun seem quite difficult, I really anjoyed the Golden Eye way of playing.

most puzzle and fighting games, even though I still like mortal kombat. I tried gran turismo once and could'nt even complete a lap without crashing and spinning out.

Silent Service on NES. Christmas gift from hell, no matter how much time and effort I put into learning the game I never quite got it.

I rented Wizardry for the NES when I was 8 or so. I didn't have the manual and couldn't make heads or tails of anything. I'm not even sure if I figured out how to leave the town.

Dwarf Fortress gave me a similar feeling when I tried it.

bladestorm was, there will come a new ps4 version now anyways so i am not wasting my time

Catherine. The gameplay almost made me want to quit the game and I was always in the edge of getting a breakdown at higher levels. Those kind of puzzles simply aren't for my brain.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...
