For sure! And yup, Wii still leads in hardware only in Japan. PS3 overtook the software lead in Japan last year and only is just 14 million shy globally of overtaking Wii in total software sales. (vgchartz figures of course)

Sales numbers not outstanding, but a little growth for many platforms and overall for HW in a dead period is always welcome.
As PS4 is dominating so easily, Sony should really do some effforts to save PSV. Maybe it's waiting for the next HW update and/or redesign to do some marketing and drop price too without making it look a resigned move, but it will better not wait too much. As dev costs are reasonable, Sony could really moneyhat more games for PSV, it would give good results for a relatively little cost.

It will take more places back before the gen is done. Wii will end up last for software and ps3 will come close to catching 360.

It seems like they have given up on the Vita.

I am also not sure that there will ever be another dedicated handheld from Sony. Perhaps they will give Xperia Play another go where the games would be playable across multiple devices with virtual controls, but the Xperia Play phones would have actual controls.
