Why does the guy on the second pic have half a saucepan stuck on his face ?

Art direction is fantastic, but actual graphical quality is lacking. Looks grey and washed out to me. Character customisation seems decent, but not a big deal for me though

Do you mean this in a good or bad way? :p It's not going to be trading blows with TW3 any time soon, but for a WiiU game it look incredibly impressive. Best non-performance related use of the WiiU's hardware we've seen.
OT: The face on that last character pic is terrifying, but the over world looks glorious. Especially this one:

Agreed.
It may not be pushing the most advanced effects on the system, but the sheer scale is impressive; it looks to be the first game to really showcase Wii U's memory advantage over last gen.
