The video game industry is such a mess right now, and all of us -- consumers, publishers, and the media -- are to blame.

There is going to be an entire generation of gamers who can't remember a time when a game came with all the content. To them, DLC is okay because its all they known. or can remember. And with games like COD selling the most and leading the way, they are probably going to get to the point where they demand DLC. Games that include all content will be punished in reviews. Its completely psychotic. We have to stand up for our hobby.

That's the sad reality we're starting to see, a generation of gamers brought up to be conditioned into thinking it;s eprfectly the norm for their games to be ripped and sold in pieces to them while still demanding they pay for the base game to boot, what's worse is they are winning and once they do that's it for us for generations to come because it means we've been compeletely walked over, they will have gotten away with almost a decade's worth of scamming and long enough that the new gamers won't even notice and they'll probably even defend corportate actions to the death (even though no one should ever defend a corp as they are not a living being).

100% with you on standing up for our hobby but we can't just vote with our wallet, that so far has only worked for so long but hasn't entirely crippled the likes of the big 3 publishers let alone discouraged new indie devs seeking to rip us off.

How much of this gived the other player an advantage? If i bought none could i still play the game? This game had a fun beta and that has continued. It's really fun.

There isnt a single thing in the DLC that isnt purely cosmetic. Just like the skins or loadout packs for CoD, or the cosmetic Last of Us DLC. Or Battlefield. 

I would bitch about it if it werent entirely cosmetic, and of they werent giving out all the maps for free.

hmmm, I feel like I only just now realized that a season pass is basically paying up front to pre-order DLC..

Yeah, you basically pay up front to receive at a later date the content that was cut out from the main game up front.

This is basically a free 2 play game that charges $60 instead.
