Forums - Gaming - Evolve Launches With $136+ Worth of DLC

I can't justify 60 for most games, much less for the worthless dlc.

And evolve MP shooting is the kind of game I couldn't bother less to buy. Anyway day 1 dlc is ridiculous.

The weapons aren't behind a paywall, the ability to add the weapons to custom loadouts is. I've used every weapon in the game and didn't pay a cent.

Just checked, and you're right. Then again, if they let you use them in custom loadouts, why didn't they just make the weapons completely free?

It's still technically a microtransaction I suppose. Just not as bad as entirely locking things out.

Btw even though i'm "defending" this by correcting your original incorrect information, I do think that other Sony first party studios are doing DLC better than ND. I think ND knows they can get away with more due to people worshipping them so much. I wouldn't be surprised if the last map pack had been paid instead of free if the remaster didn't have lobby issues in the first days after release.

They arent in custom loadouts. You can use them in preset basically preview loadouts. The ability to use the weapons your own way in your own setup is whats behind the paywall. But your point is still true and legit. Theres cosmetic DLC and even day one actual DLC in many games. Evolve is getting crapped on for some skin packs LOL.

Ill take free maps with optional premium skin packs any day of the week, thanks.

Disgusting.

Every year the video game industry sinks lower and lower. Microtransactions, day 1 DLC, games releasing borderline unplayable and needing extensive patching just to work properly...

Back in 2013, gamers gave me hope when they rose against the Xbox One's DRM policies, but nowadays it seems we're fine with being bled dry.

Not everything is bad now, look at games like bloodborne it wont have any of this stuff and thats one of the best looking AAA titles coming up

We also got Witcher 3 with them giving out free DLC and that's another best looking AAA title as well.

Yeah but it will come out digital only or with drm retail version probably, like the majority of pc games

Correct me if I'm wrong here... but people are mad because of dlc skin packs? Big deal... don't buy them. Unless I missed something, that's nothing to complain about.

huge day 1 dlc, cosmetic skin packs, a season pass that doesnt cover so much...

they arent the only one making such shady shit, but they are the only one who talk proudly over this bullshit.

they are killing gaming, and some people are okay with it...

There is no "huge day one DLC". Especially since you also listed cosmetic DLC. That's all the day one DLC is, it's cosmetic.

Not sure how any of these devs are "killing gaming" either lol. Thats a bit dramatic.

Wow... Well it's only a matter of not buying it. Though this is getting out of control... I'm glad I don't buy much of whatever these western devs and publishers put out.
