Forums - Microsoft - whatever happened to xb1's "too many games"

I don't see how anyone couldn't. They even went ahead and purchased an exclusive for the 2015 holiday season (Tomb Raider), all while trying to tell us they had "too many games" during that same period and had to push some back.

You wouldn't have to buy titles to fill the gaps if you supposedly already had plenty.

Not like anything is surprising about it though, all companies make a habit of telling their consumer base exactly what they want to hear.

Id imagine Shangheist, or whatever Black Tusk were making before Gears, wouldnt have been too far away from Holidays '15. They were a "thing" from 2012. Buying out TR "exclusivity" does speak volumes about the previous, planned exclusive lineup for the holiday.

Phil was just trying to sell systems is all.

Agreed. It's his job to try and do exactly that.

Would have liked to see what Black Tusk was working on though. It's a shame they put it on the backburner for another Gears. Would have been nice to see what they can do rather than have them build upon someone elses work.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I would like to know it as well.

Wait till E3.

It's baffling how certain people pay so much attention to MSFT, yet other companies can promise 20 exclusives in the first year, 12 of those being new ip and escape all criticism.

PS the comment about too many games was Holiday 2015. In terms of E3 they did show a a good deal of multiplats, but I imagine this E3 will have a lot more exclusive gameplay.

Third party multiplats. He didn't specify anything other then *Games* and it is games. it's a misleading PR without lying.

It's the same as sharing *Shipped* instead of sold-through. and we know the purpose behind that. But it is games.

I wish they would be more open about things, cause Fanboys are creating their assumptions and speculations about stuff.

Soon the XB1 are strong enough to fly a space shuttle to the moon. ( No hate ) i am just referring to those who are creating these insane conspiracy theories about Microsoft's agenda. Btw: i am testing the Win10 Beta. There isn't any major changes at all. it's just the design that have changed. and the Apps on Win 8 did break my PC due for some weird shit. I really hope the same problem doesn't repeat itself. If not. the changes are a lot better.

What is baffling about it? What other companies escape all critisim? Because I see EVERY company receiving it. Or are you just saying stuff just because?

And True_fan nailed it the too many games were about the Holiday season.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

He was probably talking abut multiplatform games

I will wait to see Gamescom and E3.

You just criticised them so that statement isn't true

Are they really???

Also, I heard possibly banjo and kazooie or battletoads. But there's almost nothing until september. I'm just curious where this "spreading out" occurred.

Well if the game was supposed to be finished and released this holiday you can't just spread it out and rush it to March xD So using simple logic they're either getting delayed to early 2016 or releasing a bit earlier and the release dates will be after e3. And based on your track record I just can't see this as anything besides trolling. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. And in reply to the other person. So what? Hololens has amazing potential and is coming to Xbox one

If I knew who you were I'd be inclined to take offense.

I'm a realist when it comes to things like this. I also think hololens has amazing potential. I predicted such a console 4 years ago and raved about what it would be like.

THe problem is that he said they were pushing stuff out to spread along, but I haven't seen anything of the sort. I'm really actually concerned with what these could be, and I don't know xbox well enough to know if there were things that weren't announced during e3 that have since been announced. Stringing out releases is like, having many games ready for holiday, but only releasing 2, then another in february, then another in march, then another in april. I'm guessing we are going to be seeing some new stuff at e3, I mean, obviously, but I really wanted to know if I was missing something here.

Because I'm looking at this situation of now making all xb1 games pc compatible, refocusing major studios onto hololens, and these missing games, and I'm curious how far ms is willing to protect xb1. I say this because I just accepted a bet that they wouldn't sell 70m lifetime. My major backing viewpoint is that they are going to discontinue. I'm looking for evidence of this. Missing games and refocus does seem to agree with me, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't just being oblivious.
