That's sad but their religion doesn't matter. People get shot all the time and I never see those victim's religion being mentioned.

I'm not watching TV, so I don't know. But this is something that happened overnight with few details available and the suspect was not at large, so I'm not sure how much more coverage it warranted.

It just got 5 full minutes on CNN. That's more coverage than anything else got during my lunch break.

It's a cycle. Unless it's a personal show, the anchors just recycle the current events during their timeslot. It'll be in the news until they find the guy who did it and put him in jail.

I agree but the US media seem to blow up the race issues for minority groups to get clicks on their websites and cause riots to get more things to report on for more clicks. Nothing is equal anymore we are all human after all so what difference does it make what colour you are.
This also extents to physical looks. When some pretty girl gets raped/murdered or busted for drug smuggling becomes big news. Some average looking girl it is just off the radar and you never hear about it unless you read some small section of a local paper..

If you really don't understand why it's much longer in the news if some murders are fleeing, taking hostages or whatever we see pretty often after a shootings (especially in school shootings) or a shooting where there is nobody fleeing, police has everything under control and nothing can happen anymore then I don't know.
The cases you mean were probably all some cases where there was a killer still alive hiding anywhere in a building, killing some police officers after a chase or something like that which does get more time in the news when this happens and also after they got the murder dead or alive.
And to compare that with Charlie Hebdo, common... we are talking here about a magazine which had some very controversial stuff for which they got praise and criticism around the world for years, a magazine which had already an attack to handle years before, a magazine where someone was already under police protection because the risk was so high that someone will kill him and obviously all the crazy stuff which happened after the religion motivated shooting when the murders could flee for a while, took hostages, shot police officers dead and so on... this was a country wide happening for days with thousands of police officers, special forces, helicopters in operation and you compare that with this?

The man's motives for killing them are irrelevant and subjective. The real debate is the reason this story wasn't covered by the mainstream. |
How many murders are covered my the mainstream media in the US? There are on average 38 murders per day in the US. Where are the others?
They weren't black so it doesn't fit the medias agenda. So sad this kind of stuff still goes on in what's supposed to be one of the best countries in the world, actually I shouldn't even make my self laugh about the USA being the best country in the world, this isn't the 50's or the 60's anymore our hay day is long past.
