Forums - Nintendo - Is my Wii U broken?

Like I said before the console itself is what is blinking red, how can I check if the fans are dusty?

The console has three places where the dust can enter, check them out, a bunch of blows should be enough. For the fan though, you should use another thing.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I rather not use compressed air, if you have to put in a toothpick so that the fan doesn't spin.

I will try blowing if that doesnt work I will need to buy a can of compressed air

So, did blowing into them solve the problem?

It seems like it did, at least for now

Not all Wii U console blinking red lights are the same. For me, luckily the issue started when I had another 6 mos. of warranty coverage, so I let the problem linger until I had to send it in. The blinking red light would come and go, but worsened over time. Turned out my console had a bad CPU according to their tech guy.

If you google "wii u blinking red light" you'll see different issues, some have non working fans, bad hdmi, or cpu etc.
