Forums - Sales - WW HW UP, week ending Jan 24

Have a hard time believing XB1 is selling more than half of what PS4 is in Europe.

Yep. UK is a virtual tie. The other big EU countries like France, Germany, Spain and Italy range from 2:1 up to about 7:1 based on official updates. And I don't know of any smaller EU countries where X1 is competitive, aside from perhaps Ireland

So the week of the price rising, the One only drops 46%, still above 60k.

Next week it only drops 23%, above 40k even though the price was lowered at the end of the week.

Now this week it drops 1%?

Somethings not right with the US number for the One.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

Ouch, WiiU is doomed again?

Like others have said, Nintendo needs to do something to stay relevant.

I also would think that the PS4 gap (VS XB1)would be higher here in the US. I guess we'll have to wait for NPD to be sure.

It is near the end of the end....

VGC is predicts a very tight NPD race, just as I explained in a couple of threads. But it seems that the najority here thinks otherwise. Luckily, we should get the results next week.
However, with XOne not getting any significant games in a while (I refuse to give Evolve any credit), it will be tough for them to fight off constant drops in sales. BF Hardline might help a bit, but I don't have much confidence in it either. Xone simply has nothing of significance coming out until fall, PS4 is set to dominate it by a huge margin until the holidays.
WiiU just cannot catch a break. It just seems to me that whoever wanted it ready has it, and that any game that comes out will not boost its numbers much. Their best chance at increase is a decent price drop paired with some solid third party aimed at kids (LEGO, Disney, cartoon tie-ins).

I think it's competetive in Sweden. I mean, I'm not sure, but the 360 and the PS3 were tied there at least.

Lots of surprise at Wii U sales. Going by its holiday sales, what were people expecting? It'll be up YOY but its not gonna start selling 60k every week. Q1 is one big drought for the system aswell.

X1 and PS4 holding strong. X1 shouldn't drop below 100k once feb kicks in and PS4 not below 170k.

Teeqoz ruined my joke, so...

PS3>Wii U is both funny and sad at the same time. A bit like the other numbers, aside from PS4 (and XOne to an extent).

Wonder what the New3DS will do?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Hmmm PS4 seems like it should be back up to 2:1 by now. Maybe once it gets the software rolling and the NPD may be similar to how they were last year up until November

Pretty much expected all around. Pretty embarrassing that the Wii U is below a last generation console after over two years on the market, but I can't say I'm surprised.

Great to see Xbox and PS4 neck-and-neck in the UK as usual. Hopefully X1 will get the edge.
