Hell even some indies are announced over a year in advance now.

Even though I'm a big fan of the Xbox and Its the only current gen console that I own I think what you just said there hit the nail on the head. I don't remember any big AAA games being released in the same year that it was announced. If they announce new games this E3 I would imagine that they will be arriving in 2016.
I think this will be a pretty slow year for Xbox although I'm hoping Uncle Phil can prove me wrong and pull something special out of his magic hat since I have no interest in purchasing a PS4 before there is a God of War game released along with a decent price cut.

Well MS calendar only have 2 months (the ones that count)... Maybe they will have to delay 1 year, too much games for 2 months.

That, and the fact that games like Quantum Break were announced at the reveal event and have yet to get a solid release date. Before they announce an thing new, I would like to see dates for things already announced.
Umm Forza Horizon 2 was announced in July I believe, released soon after.
Doubt there will be many more unannounced games for this year. Maybe a Gears Trilogy and one new game. MS seem to be focusing on the last third of the year again, but there will only be so many exclusives they will want to release in that time. Halo, Forza and QB are already scheduled for that time, so only one more big exclusive will be released in that time frame from MS imo
