There was actually an image of a blooper in the multiplayer map they showed off. So I really hope there is something wrong with the translation.

Is this made by their EAD team? If so maybe they're the problem. Obviously a talented lot, but maybe they need to be pushed in a certain direction. The mario games seem absolutely terrified of online despite it being quite fitting for 3D world and NSMBU.

Hold your horses people, before the internet explodes; that was a very loose translation.

The original source states that you cannot communicate with players you have met in that match. That doesn't technically confirm voice chat with friends, but it's pretty safe to assume it's included.

Don't have any friends? Make some, there's plenty of Miiverse integration in the game.

If a company offers you a crappy value before you chose to buy it, it doesn't make it less insulting after you chose not to buy it.
