No. Also those numbers are basless, this just shows you didn't predict correctly at all.

They are not baseless. They are logical. But aside your Xbox bias and think about it. It's not hard.

MS started 2014 with 1m unsold. If you say that they still only have 1m as unsold stock, you're saying that MS sold exactly 1-1 when all insiders are saying that MS set a world record for overshipping.

MS overshipped by far more than 1.5m last year.

What?! No they're not, that's completely made up. It is entirely desible they have similar stock on shelves now as the same time last year, actually that makes more sense than not.

Stop making stuff up as well.

SONY did not have any stock at the start of last year, and if they did, it was negligible. Yet, they still managed to overship by 1.5m units (And that's with neogaf insiders saying that SONY stock deletes fast ~ around 3 weeks). These insiders also said that MS stocks depletes in around 3-4 months, meaning that MS overshipped WAY more than 1.5m.

wow that hurts sooooo much to read
what about q2 2014, where ms only shipped 1.1m xbox consoles to drew down channel inventory?

what about q4 2014, where ms only shipped 6.6m xbox consoles, while the confirmed* sold through for the US alone was 3.3m?

*NPD numbers?

that "insinders" u talk about, are just some low store clerks, who know regional channel inventory, if they got 3 weeks, or 3 months of sales, does not mean anything, for worldwide channel stuffing.  and what if ms will ship more than 1 console in the next quarter? even more channel stuffing? retailers order more xbox one consoles, beside having 3 months of stock unsold in the warehouse. do they again wrongly estimate the xb1 to sell well?

ur are bad troll. try to be at least some less obvious with ur bs ;)

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Your reasoning makes no sense stocks are not piled up with unsold hardware from previous years.

Who are those insiders?? Please, post a link to those claims.

Numbers match, even if MS shipped less consoles.

US make up >70% of Xbone sales. 1.1m shipped, but <300k sold in US in that time, so add around 600k to unsold to the 1m and you get 1.6m unsold at the end of Q1 2014.

Lots of unsold stock from Q4 shipments. Unsold stock could even be at 4m.

IDG are also known as IDC. You may have heard of them.

They are the people to go to for actual figures, estimated figures and projected figures. So much trust can we put in these numbers that even Sony and Microsoft use these reports from IDG in their audited financials, even Take Two are quoting them. IDG use numbers from NPD, Gfk and other well known trackers to come to their totals and charge 10's of thousands of dollars for just one report.

So anyone saying these numbers are not a true representation of sell through are wrong. IDG are telling us the cumulative install base of PS4 and X1 as exceeding 29 million units.

AMD also told us that sell through to end users was nearly 30 million. AMD could very well be using IDG figures.

Therefore we can estimate that sell through will be between 29-30m with over ~18.5m attached to PS4.

So, by 3rd of January, VGC has PS4+X1 at 29,4mn sold through. Considering this announcement and the one from AMD, this means an almost 100% correct tracking globally by VGC. Well done!

VGChartz also charges in the thousands for reports, but their numbers are always funny.

IDG is still an estimate, nothing more. Sell-through is probably more like 26m combined. PS4 at >18.5m and Xbone at 8m.

If I had to guess, AMD was originally talking about shipping to retailers, but realized that this would mean Xbone sold-through less than 10m. Microsoft got very angry and ordered AMD to 'do something about it', so AMD did some poor damage control about how they were talking about sold-through when they said shipped, knowing that both shipped and sold-through figures would still be close to 30m.

I'll just assume you're trolling.

You think its possible for MS tho have ~1/3 of the X1s they have produced to be unsold on retail shelves! ?!?! Thats nuts bro. I think you need to step back and look at the many sources to drawna clear picture of actual shipped numbers and sold through.
