I think the Super Bowl ad started it and it has just gained momentum from there.

Big drop for the Xone, probably because the effect of exclusive ad for evolve is over.
Today looking big for Nintendo. MM at 2, MH4U at 8, 3DS in top 80, and three DS line chargers in the top 100, with one in the top 20. Looking like a strong launch for those games as well as the N3DS.
Also, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is on the rise.

It might just be good timing. We have been overwhelmed by killer AAA online First/Third person titles. Sometimes it's nice to have an offline title in the genre you love to change it up.

It's going to be interesting to see if reviews do influence sales of games significantly. My guess would be:
7/100 - 10/10 moves up list
4/10 - 7/10 moves down the list.
