I believe this gen USA will be basically like this:

PS4 will expand the gap all year until ~october, then MS will put all their First/second party exclusives + good deals in november+ december and will narrow the gap(but not as much as the gap PS4 made that year).

i think there's zero chance sony allows what happened in november and december to happen again

Of all regions NA is an area that Sony will have to work to actually win but at the end of the generation I think the PS4 will again reign on top.

Not easily, at all.

Anyone bettering either way with certainty doesn't know what they're talking about, both consoles have shown they can be ahead and we're very early in the gen. PS4 isn't hugely ahead either.

Yep, this is what I'm expecting, too. The PS4 doesn't necessarily need to beat the X1 in holiday season. It just needs to not get outsold by a whole lot.

I think it will easily win the USA by the end of the gen. I know MS is making a small push here but they can't do anything consistently I don't think. This year Sony has more exclusives than MS and third party games help them more so all the big releases will help them more than MS. I imagine Sony will win a majority of the NPDs and MS will sneak a couple wins at the end of the year. Globally MS might as well just accept second place.

I think this year sony will not allow MS to do this cause they have uncharted 4 that will be released somewhere between [September-december].If they release Uncharted in september they just need a black friday bundle with uncharted + an older game(let say bloodborne).Maybe a $100 price cut?

I think they'll be really comptitive with uncharted this time. Maybe release uncharted in the same week or possibly even on the same day as halo 5 with a bundle and a price cut to take attention away from halo.

Yes the only difference is that one shown that it need a price cut and two games to be ahead during just two months. The other one will show in January that it can be ahead even when it is more expensive.

However I agree it will not be an easy fight but the Ps4 is clearly the favourite

Sure they do, 3 price cuts in a year 2 free games and a gift card.  None with any understanding of sales and business should even bet one single dollar on X1 winning or even being close.   X1 has shows to be a failure unless on a fire sale, PS4 has shown over a year to be a massive seller.  Even with no games and at 399.

There nothing hard at beating a product that does not sale unless on a fire sale.

Its going to be so easy. Ps4 is currently winning, it will win Februry, it will win March, etc. Then comes the holidays, uncharted bundle price drop and its over. Sony wont make the same mistake of not doing anything during the holidays so the gap will less than last year in favor of xb1. The age of US being xbox land is over.
