What will happen to PSO2 :(????

I wish Nintendo would buy Atlus and the Alien IP. I don't think anything else would be valuable enough, except for Sonic but SEGA would never sell him.

Atlus doesn't deserve to go like this.

THats my fault for not clarifying, not yours.

I honestly think Persona 5 will break 1m on one platform for the first time.  I hope it does anyways, just feels like the brand name has grown since Persona 4 released.

Its just a shame that they dont try and expand it.  Its a franchise that could really grow if given the opportunity.

I don't think there are millions of people out there who are Persona fans and just don't know it yet. It's niche by nature. When you take a niche game and port it around, you run the risk of just dividing your existing audience (e.g., a guy who would have bought Persona 5 for PS3 just buys it for PC instead) instead of expanding it.

To a degree i think.  I think it would be lower on ps4/ps3 but still higher sales over all, but you do make a good point

Yeah, some people think every sales on system Y means an additional sale as opposed to a sale on system X simply moved over.

The reason I think it would be so PlayStation heavy is based on markets, history and the genre it occupies.  Microsoft tried with the 360, but evident that JRPGs and their fans are firmly associated with PlayStation (could argue Nintendo handhelds a bit though).

Ideally, but if you wind up with only marginally more sales but much greater porting costs, you've done it wrong.

The safest way to do it is to stagger it out with late ports. That way if it doesn't take, you still get some double dippers when someone who "had" to buy it on PS3 the first time buys a second copy on his preferred platform later. Worked for GTA 5! I'll bet Rockstar is getting more than a few triple dippers with the pending PC release.

I wasnt saying it wouldnt cost anything.  Im saying it wouldnt increase by 100%.  It would likely make the risk slightly higher but porting a game is much cheaper than developing them.  According to Ubisoft they ported all their games for less than 1m to wiiu which is a tiny fraction of what those games cost to make

Sonic - Inconsistent

Alien - Inconsistent

Bayonetta - Smallest Fanbase and a fanbase that barely supports third party.  No previous history with the franchise as Bayonetta 1 was not on a nintendo console

Persona - Niche game that they make exclusive instead of multiplat.  Persona 4 and 5 should be on every console.  Persona Q should have been on both 3DS and VIta

Shenmue - Nowhere to be found

Crazy Taxi - Wont Translate to New Generation as most other ip they own

So with that said. THey make terrible decisions time after time. When they make good games the franchise is either so inconsistent that it scares people off, they make exclusive games with no partnership that cuts into their profit, or they make a game exclusive to a platform that has none of the original fanbase that really makes no sense at all

I loved Alien: Isolation and I love Persona so i want them to succeed. But SEGA in general makes terrible decisions.

At the very least i hope they start releasing all their games on PC

On this matter, Sega was not going to make any new Bayonetta game in the first place, if it wasn't for Nintendo going to Sega & paying Platinum to develop the game, there wouldn't be Bayonetta 2!

Fans of the original one & people who want the game on others platform need a reality check! They should thank Nintendo for enabling the making of Bayonetta 2 & should put the money where their mouth is & buy the game if they want it so bad!
