It seems there are people against the suggestion as if it's a form of censorship, really it's not since you can say what you want but those of us that don't want to hear it won't be seeing it, nothing stops you from your desired ban or whatever nest you want to kick.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Why do people want to block other people? Now that's an answer I would like to now.

It's not like it makes a difference. Just make your profile viewable to only friends and stay away from threads posted by said user.

The problem is that this is a forum, and any user can go into any thread. I am [relatively] new here, and there are two people I already know I would block/ignore because they're insulting, and it seems they post whatever rude thing that comes to mind. I have reported said people multiple times, but nothing seems to be done. It would be better (for me) to have this feature so that these people can be blocked. Even the GameFAQs forum has this feature.

If that's true, they would have been banned by now.

I can tell you that there are posts/users that should have been moderated that have not been. I'm not saying this as a jab at the moderation team. Likely they're busy, although it's also possible that the moderation team chose not to do anything about these reported posts for one reason or another. The ability to block/ignore a user would be a nice feature to have.

I would like to see some examples of those posts as I have never seen someone post something that's against the TOS and not get banned.

The problem is that some people on this site are too sensitive and will report a poster just because they disagree with them.A block button should be available like other sites.

Perhaps you guys are right. i wish we could all be adults but perhaps some aren't capable. I think the rule set in place should keep everyone's eyeballs safe (overtly safe even) obviously there are those here that disagree.  I just hope we aren't marching toward a site that is so damn boring that I and others, don't want to visit. I know since I started stalking the site it has gotten much tamer.

I'm not sure I'd ever use it. Even if some users do annoy me at times they can also have posts worth reading at other times.

Oh, thank you.

From what I can tell, ppl report others for minor things but the mods won't do anything until it builds up then they will start moderating a user on little things. Like if you post mostly negative things about one of the big three, the fanbase reports it everytime. It's just better to have a block feature for that crap.

The purpose of me posting on this thread wasn't to link to rude/insulting posts. If I did that I'm pretty sure I would be in trouble (rightly so) for backseat moderating or something. I personally have seen posts that are blantantly discriminatory against race/gender/religion/etc, and those things irk me, even when it isn't my race/gender/religion/etc. Anywho... my main point is that I like, and would personally use, this feature. Also, it has been stated that it will likely never happen. So Sad Panda is going to continue to be sad.

There is no such feature. A user called Gnac has created a script which does something similar for the site, however there isn't an official option.

It's highly unlikely there will be either.

Sad Panda is sad.

Sad Panda is never not sad
