Women still get lower wages in the western world, for the same jobs. They are also in less "positions of power", less CEOs etc...

Are they really? Could they be getting paid less because maternity leave is taken into account and because many woman do not want to progress in their jobs and only want to get enough to help raise their child. Woman who want to become CEOs and so on usually do so.without a hitch or at least with the same amount of problems that man face.

Why should it be assumed that women will take maternity leave though?

(Congrats, made an account just to respond to these.)

In the US and most of the western hemisphere there aren't federal regulations mandating standardized maternity leave, so that is a non concern. And to OP, the assumption that women don't aspire to make more money than they currently do just to raise their child is a thinly veiled, sexist assumption.

generic-user-1 please keep your self calm. I agree wholehartedly with your opinion but please stray away from calling a particular gender stupid.

did i? if yes im sry, im not native english and im not 100% sure that everything i wrote is understandable. all i was trying to say was that people that study genderstudys arent the brightest(no matter if they are male or female) and that they cant use basic math, same goes fo a big part of socialstudies, they are just bad at science and many of em dont even try to make good studies or beeing unbiased. its about promoting an agenda, and about getting payed decent for easy work without any meaning for anyone in the real world.

Don't worry about it . It's just that from past comments it made it seem as if you were calling out woman for that comment.

If that is is the case. I want to become a second class female teenager in the states, where I would be considered to be a second class citizen, while listening to 1D on my Ipod bought by my boyfriend.

In some cases, yeah. For example, a friend of mine lost a sexual assault lawsuit on him even though he never did anything. I was with my friend during the days where the girl claimed she sexually assaulted him, and I know for a fact that nothing happened since we were all together! My friend provided heaps of evidence and worked with 3 different lawyers. All the girl did was cry and act emotional. It was essentially the guy's evidence vs. the girl's words. Needless to say my friend lost, and it was blatantly obvious the decision making was highly biased towards the girl.

Women have, and have not, been given too much power in the Western World.

Reasons for Have:
1. Children - Go through a divorce/separation or have a child out of wedlock, and you will see what I mean. The courts are often times leaning in favor of the woman. Men have gotten the bad rap of being deadbeats, abusive, uncaring, etc. Courts tend to side with women. I had always heard this and assumed it to be false, but then I experienced it first hand. The woman has the power here, and way too much of it.

2. Sexual Harassment - Women, again, come out on top here. They can accuse any guy of anything, and whether something comes of it or not that guy that was accused of something is remembered for that. The thing I am most sick of are the amount of women who yell, "Rape!" Please note, I am fully aware that there are women who get rapped. Go to the police. Report it. Fight to get that person behind bars. My point is that there are women who say rape just because they can. Boyfriend pisses them off, leaves, or cheats on them - let's say rape. Someone at work does or says something they don't like - let's say rape. The worst thing is when one person cries rape, and then others flock to it just to get their ten minutes of fame/sympathy/whatever. Again, if it actually happened, report it. But there are a lot of cases where it's found to be false, but the guy still has to be remembered as the guy in court being charged of rape. Whether or not he did it, that's his title.

3. Legal stuff - Referring mostly to tickets, fines, etc. This one probably won't be considered fair since it's dependent on the judge/cop/whoever, but when a woman gets pulled over for speeding, and she can just unbutton the top of her shirt to get out of a ticket, that is a disgusting abuse of power (the power of her body). My girlfriend told me she got out of tickets a lot this way, and I told her that if she ever does that again, and I find out, that I will leave her. I don't want her to get a ticket, but she isn't a f***ing whore.

Reasons for Have Not:
Everything else.

First Bold: *Raped.

Second Bold: I want you to read an article on Cracked.com titled "8 Ways the Legal System Screws Rape Victims (Like Me)"

third bold: can't statistically prove that, assumption isn't an argument.

But it does happean, most woman see themselves ass the child bearer and therefore they try to mostly rise the child themselves and therefore sacrificing their carrerr. This is infact the reason why most woman win the right to raise their children in devorce court casses.

@ Bolded: Well since you are a male obviously the legel system will screw you since in these types of cases the court is biased against females. If you are female posing as a male then you are a rarity and I feel sorry for you.

Steady on Mr.Playstation. No need for these sweeping generalizations and you know it (same applies for subsequent and previous posts, but this one seemed to be the worst).

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Equal rights and equal opprutunities for all. It doesn't mean equal results, though and that is okay. I know I am way oversimplifying the issue but this is how I would want the US set up.

Understood . I also generalized somewhat in my comment before this just to let you know.
