Forums - Gaming - Xbox One is going to be advertised and promoted to hundreds of millions of people this year, every time they turn their PC on

I think for many people it is just going to be another annoying thing that is just there

I would never upgrade to Windows 10, it is a rather crappy OS.
I'll stick with windows 7, it's simple, easy, and way less gimmicky. Microsoft thought they did everybody a favor by making things more "accessible"
Really all they did was complicate it, in my opinion. What happened to simplicity?

It's 7 months+ from launch and you're already dubbing it crappy? Those that have used it and all press so far suggests nothing but good things ala 7. Very different to pre (and post) 8 feelings.

I am pretty sure most PC people won't care since I am guessing its a live tile which I am also presuming that it can be easily removed for other live tiles like how it is in the beta

Oh yeah, you'll possibly be able to move the tile, not sure you can actually get rid of it from your PC tho, it'll always be in the list.

It'll have to be removeable but how difficult that is who knows. No way my company would ever want that in one of our images.

This is so true, plus hope its like it is now with windows 8 where i just sign into my hotmail account and it also comes up with my xbox 360 and xbox one account etc.

By the way those of us that have windows 8 get windows 10 for free then?

Yea I've heard nothing but good things about it. I do agree that MS is always changing things that no one asked them or wanted them to change and it's very annoying but whatever MS going to MS.

I really dont think PC gamers would be bothered in any way. Its only Xbox one console owners that would have the most use of it, steam gamers may try out the service but then would go back to steam gaming. Its a really nice addition and improvement from the Windows 8 Xbox app version.

Steam just updated yesterday i think to support livestreaming, steamboxes are still a thing and they come with steam OS, so its still a bit iffy to say the xbox one app will make a spike in xbox one sales/gaming.

Also, xbox one has already been advertised to hundreds of millions of people by now (most especially the ones using PCs)

I think most PC gamers will still use the usual Steam programs etc. The ones who are most likely to use the Xbox app are, ironically, Xbox fans to begin with.

After Windows 8 everything went down hill in my eyes.

It isn't just PC gamers that will see it though. It is everybody that has a PC, which is probably the vast majority of console gamers as well...

So everyone will see an XBox One logo...if they use the Xbox App? I would hardly call that promotions to hundreds of millions of people, most of whom have already heard of Xbox.
