Yeah, it's fair, Specially since it would sell pretty bad on Wii U. Better release it as one of the early flasgship titles of the next console, like Prime 3 with Wii.

Especially since Metroid sold best on the Gamecube.

Well, it's not that simple. The game you're referring to must be the first Prime, which is the best selling Prime to date, but that's it. First game sold better than sequels, but Prime 3 on Wii outsold MP2 Echoes too. It reverted a downfall, plus GameCube sold better than Wii U in its first years. I mean, it's hard to expect a new Prime to sell better on the smaller install base of a Nintendo home console ever, plus on a time period where any game on this console that is not Mario/Zelda-related is suffering to do well.

With games like Pikmin, Bayonetta and even Donkey Kong struggling to reach the 1m mark, can we really expect a new Metroid to do great on Wii U? Wouldn't it make more sense to hold it until the start of next gen and release it very early to faster attract Nintendo hardcore fans + maybe new fans? Cause I believe most people that would buy a Metroid already have a Wii U.

It all depends on how much hype they can build up.

I'm with you on this one, but unfortunately I don't think Nintendo would be smart enough to build a big hype for this game on Wii U. Just look at the missed opportunity with Bayonetta 2 :/

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Don't hurt me so ):

I think a lot of Nintendo fans would be incredibly disappointed if Metroid missed a generation.

So I'd have live with that bitter Other M taste in my mouth for two generations? No thank you!

I think we'll definitely see a Metroid game for the Wii U in 2016, probably a holiday title, maybe even with a console bundle. Thing is, I think 2016 will be the last full year for the Wii U, so I highly doubt that we're going to see a Mario Galaxy 3 for the Wii U. I could be wrong, especially given the recent release of Mario Galaxy 2 for the virtual console, but I think that Mario Galaxy 3 is going to premiere as a flagship title for Nintendo's next console. One of the biggest mistakes Nintendo has been making is a lack of good titles at launch to help sell the system and a lot of people specifically point to a lack of Mario going back to the Gamecube days(wheres my Luigi's Mansion U btw?). I don't think that Nintendo intends to make that mistake again. I'd be willing to bet we'll see both F-Zero and Galaxy 3 on Nintendo's next system as launch titles, possibly with a Splatoon sequel as well, depending on how well it sells.

Release it on the Gameboy Color, I don't care, just release a new Metroid already!

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I think other m did sooooo badly that unless retro are interested (which I assume they're not) Nintendo are thinking about where to take metro if from here which means they may give it a rest for a gen or 2... Personally I liked certain aspects of other m and would like to see them (or team ninja) try again but remove whe crap.
Am more interested in seeing a 2d metroid petsonally.

I don't give a damn about what's fair and what's not.. I just want a new Metroid!

I never get why Metroid is considered one of Nintendo's Big 3 when its sales hardly even pass the 2M mark. The Big 3 term was all the rage in the Wii era of 2007
